Dash seems to have the issue of “you snooze, you lose”. But maybe there’s something better around the next corner. Shadow has a lot on her shoulders. Your heart will break for her. She needs to have a knight in her life but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have a strong will.
There are some things that Dash seems to be clueless about. There are times he means well but he just seems to have a hard time learning a lesson. One thing he’s good at is letting Shadow shine. She’s had a tough life but she’s a protective mother bear and won’t let anything get close enough that would harm her son.
Ivy’s story continues where Luring Light kind of left off. Because even though this book is Dash’s, her story continues here. You certainly don’t need to read it in order to enjoy this tale but some of what happens to her here also happened in that story as well. I think that once you meet her, you certainly will want to know the rest of her story.
If you love to see kids interacting with the men of the MC then you will enjoy getting to know Cruz. Even though I can’t physically see him, with our author’s help I have no trouble picturing him and how he interacts with those around him. What’s great about this group is how protective they are about their loved ones.
The author was good at getting me involved with the story because there were a few times that I felt sorry for Dash. He’s an honorable man and wants to do what’s right but how many times does he have to be shot down before giving up. We see how strong his heart is in order to make someone happy.
This is a story that will give you some suspense and some violence but this is an MC after all – story comes with a trigger warning at the beginning. But it also shows how a relationship builds over time. There are going to be some tender moments. There are going to be some moments where you may feel like you are right in the room as these men do what they do best. The part that will take a while is any type of relationship between our main characters. This is a good thing because it helps to move the story along until we see how the author is going to end it.
