Excerpt:

John

She was so beautiful up close, her skin smooth and her eyes full of mystery and intrigue. Her cheekbones were high, her lips red and full. She could have been a Hollywood star, had I not stolen her away from all of it. But instead, here she was, the face of my multi-billion dollar business. That face, just inches from mine.
She leaned in, and I knew what was coming, but I was powerless to stop it. Her soft lips pressed against mine, and I kissed her back as if I had been in a desert and she was water.
Passion tingled through my body as my hands went to trace her small curves. She was perfect under my big hands, firm and yet supple in all the right places.
I put my hand up to her face, tilting her head ever so slightly and she half moaned, her body melting into mine.
I don't know how long we made out, but it was long enough for the entire ride to go by without us knowing. Before I knew it, the car had stopped.
Even though I knew the windows were tinted and no one could see inside, it took all my willpower to pull apart from her.
"We're here," I said.
"So we are," she replied, a bit breathless. "Should we go inside?" she reached to take my hand, to lead me as she had been leading me all day. But I grabbed her hand instead.
"Gwen...this...us..."
"Don't worry, John," she said, softly. "I know this is a big deal, what we're starting. I won't tell anyone until we're sure. But just so you know, I've been sure since I first saw you. And it won't change any time soon."
She laid one last kiss on my cheek and then let herself out of the limo.
"Goodnight, John."
"Goodnight, Gwen," I called after her, deciding to sit for a few minutes before I went inside. Everyone had known we were out together, that bit wasn't a secret. But I wasn't keen to let the world know the effect that this girl had on my body, or my face.
I wasn't keen to let them know I was falling in love and in lust with her, all at the same time.

Forsaken Sinners MC Series #3
Cover Designer: TOJ Publishing Services

════ SYNOPSIS ════

Twenty-six-year-old Louie Creighton knows there is something inside him he can’t control…

Ever since he can remember, Louie has had a short fuse. People always said he’d amount to nothing. He wasn’t smart enough to get into college. He wasn’t tough enough to be a Marine. No one believed in him.

No one except his father, Mike Creighton…

Louie’s father always taught him to turn the other cheek. He was a true mentor, teaching him how to be a man in a world of cowards. But when his father is murdered the day after scratching a winning lottery ticket, Louie’s inner monster can’t be contained. He becomes determined to track down the suspect at any cost. All along, he struggles to live by his father’s motto—To find out what you live for, you have to discover what you’d die for.

Then he meets Harlow McPherson…

Her entire life has been a battle. Harlow grew up in the system, bouncing from one foster home to the next. Most weren’t that bad, but some were hell.

The only comfort was the fact she wasn’t alone. Her twin brother, Hendrix, was always there—until he took his own life years later, abandoning Harlow in a cruel world. Unable to forgive, it’s Louie who reminds her there’s still hope.

When Louie unleashes his inner monster, and Harlow finally faces her demons, will they lose themselves to the darkness, or risk it all Defying Destiny?

════ MEET AUTHOR SHELLY MORGAN ════

I grew up in a small town in Iowa. I have 2 older sisters and amazing parents. Growing up, I was always a daddy’s girl, hanging out with him in the garage, fishing, and building stuff. I loved to play softball and swimming, but reading, telling stories, and writing were my passion, even at a young age. I took a break from writing for a while, but you could always find me with a book in my hand.

I have three children – two boys and a girl. They are my whole world. Even when I’m having the worst day ever, they brighten up my day and make me smile.

A few years ago, there was this story that would always play out in my head and no matter how many times I went through it, from beginning to end, it would never fade. So I decided to put it on paper. I didn’t plan on publishing it, but when it was almost done, a friend asked to read it. She said it was a story that needed to be shared. And that’s what started my writing career.

I love all genres of books, and even though I started with writing MC Romance, I have a whole book of ideas, so you can expect more from me than just MC, though romance is in my blood.

Even though I currently work two jobs, my ultimate dream is to become a full time author. I want to be able to spend my days filling pages with stories. I want to be the reason people find a reason to smile or laugh from lines on a page. Reading a book allows me to live in someone else’s shoes, even if only for a few minutes. It’s a way to leave my life and troubles behind and I want to be help others do that as well.

New adult contemporary romance (standalone)

About LAGUNA SIGHTS:

Is the price of fame the chance at true love?

Scott Cassidy has lived a blessed life. Growing up in Laguna Beach with a loving family, he was discovered in high school when he appeared on the popular reality TV show, Laguna Nights. Now cast as a doctor on the number one soap opera, his star keeps rising. Finally free from his long-term girlfriend, Scott isn’t looking for love, but when a popular dating app matches him with Jamie Kane, he can’t deny the sparks. But is she really everything she seems?

Jamie Kane isn’t lucky in love or life. Her childhood was tumultuous with a single mom who moved to Hollywood for fame but ended up waiting tables in Malibu. Certainly not one of the spoiled kids she went to high school and college with, Jamie has worked hard to achieve her dreams of being an actress, even as she begins to realize it’s not her calling. Jamie believes Scott may be the answer to everything unless a past mistake makes him doubt their future together.

Once you become a star, can you trust other people’s intentions?

EXCERPT :

“Well, then let’s go see your fabulous room.” Even though she sounded brave, even though he’d said the right things, she was shaking as she stood up from the table. Scott slipped his arm around her waist and she felt safe. And hopeful.
They walked up a set of stairs across from the front desk and found themselves on a long outdoor hallway lined with doors. The outdoor hallway overlooked the front entrance of the hotel, and she could hear, but couldn’t see, the cars zipping past on PCH beyond. When they reached his room, Scott pulled Jamie into his arms.
“Jamie. I want to take this slow. I want to do whatever you want to do. As you, and the entire world unfortunately know, I am just out of a long-term relationship. I think you are incredible, smart and sexy. I am interested in you, but I need to warn you. I just can’t promise anything serious right now. The one promise I will make is that I will talk to you, no matter what.”
Jamie appreciated his sincerity. Right then and there she made herself a silent promise that she’d find a way to make him change his mind. To take a chance on her and their relationship.
“I appreciate that, Scott, I really do.” A wave crashed on the other side of the hotel as Scott slipped the key into the door and pushed it open. Jamie’s mind immediately jumped to another time, another hotel room. A year ago. A shudder swept through her. Stop it, she told herself. This isn’t him. This is Scott.
“Are you cold?” Scott asked as he followed her in the door.
“No, I’m fine. Great.” She walked across the room to the full sliding glass doors facing the ocean. The lights of the pier were visible. Standing in front of the glass, Jamie felt like she and Scott were out on a ship out in the middle of the ocean, floating over the crashing waves, nothing in sight. It was just the two of them, together at the edge of the world.
Scott slipped his arms around her waist from behind and pulled her close.
“This is beautiful.”
She felt his lips on her neck, soft kisses sending chills down her spine. She started to lean back, close her eyes and relax into Scott when another, angrier face—Jared’s face—popped into her mind. That night, a year ago, still haunted her.

EXCERPT:

When the car’s growling engine stopped, Gareth found himself surrounded by woods in a corner of the Weald he’d never been to before. The small car park was deserted except for a handful of cars, and Gareth heard only birdsong, the rustle of the breeze in the trees, and the faraway drone of a plane. They hadn’t passed any villages or farms during the last leg of their drive, and nothing around him hinted at human habitation.

The car park didn’t even have a sign.

“You know where we are, right?”

“Would you believe me if I said we’re eight miles from Canterbury?”

It was hard to imagine that a city full of tourists, bars, and shops was in hiking distance of this deserted corner of Kent. The air held the bitter, musty scents of pine and damp leaves and—barely detectable—the savory smell of mushrooms. Most of the oak and beech trees surrounding the small, graveled car park were just starting to unfurl their leaves, giving the afternoon sun almost unhindered access.

Jack unlocked the boot, ready to get out of the car and retrieve the TVR’s roof. Before he could move, Gareth wrapped a hand around his neck and pulled him closer until the center console got in the way. Jack didn’t fight. He braced his elbows on magnolia leather and leaned across the barrier into Gareth’s touch. Their kiss was slow and languid, more teasing than enticing.

“Really not the car for that,” Gareth commented when he leaned back to put space between them. “Though I could imagine spreading you across that bonnet.”

“Yeah, let’s scandalize the locals,” Jack agreed and popped the doors.

It was the third time and Gareth still hadn’t figured out how it was done. Not that he’d been paying particular attention to the TVR’s doors. Though now that he’d started thinking about the acres of bonnet, he could see that the car had potential. He turned to look for Jack, but despite having opened the boot, he wasn’t anywhere close to the car. He stood in the center of the car park, staring at a beat-up green Rover.

“What’s the matter?”

“Not sure.” Jack’s voice was distant. “Thing gives me the creeps.”

“How?”

Gareth couldn’t see anything that might have set off Jack’s warning bells. The N-plated Rover 400 showed every one of its seventeen years of hard work. Flaking paint marred the sides, hinting at rust-eaten bodywork, and one of the car’s wings had been replaced with one of a slightly different green. It wasn’t a car that invited a second look from anyone, but somehow it had immediately drawn Jack’s attention.

“Jack?”

He stared a moment longer before he shrugged and turned back to Gareth. “I don’t know,” he said, sounding apologetic. “Probably nothing at all. Fancy a walk?”

“Since that’s what we came here for….” Gareth wanted to reach for Jack, whether to distract him or shake him hard enough to rattle some sense back into that busy brain of his, he couldn’t have said. “Was there anywhere in particular you wanted to go?”

“Just… around,” Jack said as he found a narrow path that led into the surrounding woods.

“Liar. And crappy at it, too. How’d you ever make it as a spook?”

Gareth had merely meant to tease, but a dark flush crept up Jack’s neck, and he hunched forward. “I wasn’t that kind of spook,” he mumbled when Gareth caught up with him.

“No?” Gareth wrapped his arm around Jack’s shoulders and felt him flinch at the contact. Jack was suddenly so tightly wound he was close to taking off. And that wasn’t something Gareth wanted to deal with right then. He cast around for something, anything, that could serve as a distraction.

“So, what’s going on with you and that Dave character?” he settled on, glad when Jack’s head shot up and he stared, caught out.

“Nothing’s going on. He’s straight.”

“Bullshit. He was all over you.”

The vehemence in Gareth’s tone brought Jack’s head around. The frown dissolved and the smirk appeared. “That jealousy I’m hearing, Flynn?”

Gareth felt the rush of heat in his neck sweep up the sides of his face. He held Jack’s disbelieving gaze regardless. “Would you blame me?”

You don’t greet your new boss dressed like an underage rent boy. But when Jack Horwood—ace hacker and ex-MI6 operative—opens the door to Gareth Flynn, he's too busy to worry over details like that. And anyway, his potential new boss is his former Commanding Officer – the same guy Jack has had a crush on since he was seventeen. So he should understand, right?
When he applied for the job in Nancarrow Mining's corporate security division, Jack had hoped for peaceful days repelling cyber attacks. Maybe a bit of corporate espionage on the side. Walking away is not an option. Jack never takes the easy way out. More than that, meeting Gareth raises old ghosts that Jack needs to put to rest. Rescuing kids. Taking risks. Saving the day. Jack can do all that – but deciding what to do about his attraction to Gareth isn’t the sort of cloak-and-dagger game Jack plays well. Yet Gareth, strong and smart and always on hand when needed, might be Jack’s salvation.

Synopsis:

Jack Horwood doesn’t do families. Or Christmas. From the time his mother sold him to her pimp to the moment he walked out on the man he loved, Christmas has always been about change and painful choices. This year seems no different. Helping Daniel and Nico recover from their imprisonment and hunting down those responsible puts Jack in a frame of mind he doesn’t want to inflict on anyone. Least of all Gareth and the tentative relationship they’ve started to rebuild.
But Gareth, for whom Christmas is all about new beginnings, won’t let Jack take the easy way out. He makes him face his ghosts instead. Even when said ghosts invade their bedroom.

When Daniel’s parents are found, Jack is determined to settle the matter without involving Daniel at all. But fate decrees otherwise, and it’s Gareth who helps him finally understand that the strongest bonds are those forged together. Once he gets that, Jack can step up and make a decision designed to lay his ghosts to rest—for good.

Entangled Publishing Presents: Love Me Never by Sara Wolf; #Excerpt, #BlogTour, & #Giveaway

EntTeen-LovelyVicious-webbanner-ad1-STATIC(851x315)

Don’t miss today’s Excerpt Tour for Love Me Never (Lovely Vicious, #1) by Sara Wolf, which releases on Tuesday, April 5, 2016!

LOVE ME NEVER 500x700 (1)“That’s n-not what I meant—” Kayla starts.

“And you seem exactly like the type of girl to stay with friends she hates. They probably hate you, too. It must be easy, hiding it behind all that booze and all those name brands.”

Kayla’s tears overflow onto her cheeks. Jack sighs.

“You’re so spineless you collapse into tears the second anyone says the truth?”

My heart’s thumping in my chest. My fists squeeze so tight I can’t feel my fingers. His cruelty leaves a bitter taste in my mouth—it’s a lot like someone I used to know.

Someone who ruined my life forever.

I shove aside the red-faced boy who tries to hit on me again and launch myself through the crowd. Kayla isn’t my friend. No one here is. But she’s been four seconds of nice to me—true nice, not Avery’s sugary poison of inviting-me-to-this-weird-test-party nice. And four seconds is more than I ever thought I’d get. It’s the most I’ve had in a long time. Jack’s lip quirks up in a sneer. Say it. Say one more thing, pretty boy. I dare you to.

“You’re pathetic,” he says.

That’s the first time I punch Jack Hunter’s face.

And as my knuckles connect with his stupid high cheekbones and he staggers back with a furious blizzard brewing in his icy eyes, I somehow get the feeling it won’t be the last.

About Love Me Never (Lovely Vicious, #1):

Previously published as Lovely Vicious, this fully revised and updated edition is full of romance, intrigue, and laugh-out-loud moments.

Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. All the girls in her new school want one thing—Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter’s never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he’s never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.

Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.

The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.

Bare Naked Words Presents: Stone Wear by Marilyn Lakewood;

Title:  Stone Wear
Author:  Marilyn Lakewood
Genre:  Erotic Romance/BDSM
Rating:  4.5 Stars

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from Bare Naked Words, and the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Synopsis:

When a woman who loves too deeply meets a man who doesn’t love at all, something's got to give.

32 year old photographer, Jillian Ingram, fills the emptiness in her life with single-minded commitment to work. After the death of her dominant husband, she avoids all reminders of her past and denies her yearning to submit to another man…but when masterful Nick Colton promises to fulfill three of her deepest fantasies, it’s a temptation she can’t refuse. He’s the perfect Dom – hardcore, generous, and temporary. His offer of a weekend affair suits her perfectly, because for a long-term relationship, Jillian needs the one thing that Nick can’t give…love.

37 year old Nick Colton doesn’t want romance. Burned by a recent divorce, all he requires now is a night or a weekend with a woman who likes cuffs, clamps, and hard sex. No talk of long-term relationships and especially love. He’s given up finding that one special submissive who’s strong enough to surrender to his control—until he meets Jillian, the woman of his hottest fantasies. But Jillian’s commitment to her career is as strong as Nick’s aversion to relationships, and when their weekend ends, they must each decide if a commitment to temporary should be a commitment to forever.

My Thoughts:

This is a story that shows some adults like to push their sexual limits.  It doesn’t make them odd or a freak.  They just like more spice in their lives.  This is just one thing that makes us unique and an individual.  But it’s also that part that we keep private.  We have no right to judge what someone does in their own bedroom or behind closed doors – it’s not illegal so let them enjoy something that gives them so much pleasure.  And if you like a little spice in your life, you may find yourself wanting to try some of the scenes that you will read here.

If you’re starting to get your vacation lists started, are you also thinking what beach reads you want?  If you like them hot then this book should be on that list.  The only thing you may need to worry about is roving eyes.  Since I’ve already read this one, I went back and got Chase Tanner’s story for my vacation.  And then if I still have time, I’ll reread Nick’s story.  I’m waiting patiently to see if the author will give us a book three.

Meet the Author:

Marilyn and her husband live in the northwest U.S., not too far from the Canadian border. She thinks the long, cold winters are perfect “writing weather.” Most of the time, she doesn’t mind the short days, or the snow—except when she needs to drive in a blizzard, in the dark.

Marilyn started writing sexy stories “just for fun” and she’ll joyously admit she’s obsessed with creating hard-core dominant heroes and happily-ever-after endings.

Writing erotic romance lets her explore love, passion, and sex, through the lens of different characters and settings. It’s also a way to keep her imagination kindled during the September to March “cold snap.” Marilyn loves music, flowers, sci-fi and romance movies, and taking daily walks with Precious, her rescued dog.

She’s a country girl at heart, and although she imagines travelling to distant, romantic shores, her favorite place is home with her family.

Nick stood and held out his hand to her. “It’s only eight-thirty. Let’s go for a walk out front.”
Unable to resist, Jill put her hand in Nick’s and let him tug her to her feet. He wants to collect the kiss I promised. She searched his handsome face, trying to pinpoint why he affected her so much. What did she know about him? He desired her, definitely. He was generous, intelligent, and dominant all the way through. What she didn’t know was everything else—about his divorce, his job, his life.
He didn’t know her, either. She wasn't ready to divulge any secrets, but the fact remained that if he knew what type of woman she'd been in the past, and still was inside, he might not be so intent on her.
Jacob had said that loving her was the most exquisite, consuming, and satisfying thing he had ever done―but not always easy. He’d told her if anything ever happened to him, she had to choose a man strong enough to give her what she needed.
“Come on, babydoll.” Nick led her off the front porch and ambled down the drive, holding her hand. “Let’s start working on this.”
“This?” she asked, glancing up at him.
He swung her around and into his embrace. “Yes, this.”
His mouth slanted over hers and his hand threaded through her hair, holding her head. His other arm snugged her against his torso while his lips caressed and controlled her mouth. He nibbled her bottom lip and his hand shifted to her jaw, urging her to open for him. When she did, his tongue pushed inside, stroking, exploring, claiming. Their warm breath mingled, their lips fused in passionate foreplay. Her sex clenched, her knees wobbled, and she sagged against him.
Sweet sin! The man knew how to kiss. He crushed her body to his, holding her up, plundering and demanding surrender. She moaned, and he kissed her harder. He captured her against his muscled chest, shifting their bodies until he had her back against the trunk of a towering evergreen.
“That's it, woman.” He lifted her and fit his hips between her thighs, then guided one of her legs around his waist. His lips and teeth worked down the column of her throat and his hand slid under her camisole. He touched her bare breast.
She jolted.
So did he.
“Hell.” He thumbed the discrete ring that pierced her nipple. “I’m going to lose it right here.”
“You like my piercings?”
He chuffed. “Damn straight. I’ve been hard since I noticed the jewelry yesterday morning.” He kept his hand on her breast and used the other hand to tilt her face to his. His stormy eyes seduced her as much as the thick erection pushed against her clit. “I want to get inside you and make you scream.”
She blushed, self-conscious. “I never scream.” A part of her wanted him to try though. He might be what she needed to soar, to finally get past her self-imposed reserve and restraint. But right now, he was too much too fast.
“You will for me.” He kissed her again, keeping his hips tight against hers. For another cherished moment, she let herself enjoy it. His mastery thrilled her. Moisture dampened her thighs and the crotch of her shorts.
Her body wanted him. Lust, pure and simple.
What if she trusted him with her innermost desires and he didn’t understand? The odds were against finding someone as strong as Jacob. Twice in a lifetime, just didn’t happen. She hadn't really looked for someone else because she didn't want to settle for something less in a relationship. It would feel dishonest and only disappoint both parties.
“I can't.” She pushed Nick's arms to stop him. He felt too good. Too strong and confident, and too much like someone she would desire all the time. Her body sang when he touched her or even looked at her. A ricochet of unsettling emotions blasted through the lustful haze and cooled her fever. “No.”

Nick marshaled up every scrap of willpower he possessed and forced himself to stop. Fuck, this girl did it for him. His lungs heaved. His body shook and his cock ached, tight with blood…but he had to slow down. She wasn’t ready yet.
When he swung her up into his arms, he savored her sweet little gasp of surprise and the way she clung like a little koala bear around his neck. He pressed his mouth to her forehead and breathed in the scent of her hair. “Yes, you'll scream―but not because a damned tree is rubbing you raw. If anything makes you scream, it’s going to be me shoved deep in your tight little body.”
