Vivien has been through a lot. What’s hard is how she’s being pulled in two different directions. In the previous book, I wasn’t much a fan of Reeve. But the heart wants what it wants. Dillion plays more of a staring roll here. There were moments when I actually felt sorry for him. In the next though I wanted to ask him what his problem was. And there did come a time when I was happy for him.
Our author has a way of building anticipation that may have you holding your breath – just remember to breathe. She shows the pain that her characters are feeling – the kind that can bring tears to your eyes. There were times that I questioned where she was taking her characters. A lot was going on in this book and it may take you several days to read. At times it was hard to see anything happy because all of the darkness that started to develop. Depending on what you are personally going through, just be mindful that there’s a lot of emotions at play. What lightens it is the sense of family and how they are there when you need them the most.
It was nice to see that it was like a light switch was put on because things turned around. Emotions were lightened and people seemed happy. One thing you can expect from this author is a curveball and just as I was preparing myself for a peaceful ending. It was more bittersweet but it did fit into everything that came before.
