Something happened last year that changes how I approach my life. I told no one about it. It’s affected all of my relationships and ended the one with the girl I thought I’d be with forever. I’m a hero at college and one of the top quarterbacks at the university level, and I have the popularity to show for it. Still, none of it feels deserved after what I failed to do last year. I’m riddled by guilt and confusion over what happened, but worse is my reaction to it.
Jacey Walker has her own tales of horror that come to light after she finds refuge with my parents in Silver Springs. She’s caught my eye and interest. She has an awakening curiosity about a new and brighter future than she’s ever imagined, which has me reevaluating and appreciating my own until I realize who has caught her attention. Now I have to face my own history or risk Jacey paying the consequences.

My Thoughts:
Wyatt Kincaid was on top of the world one moment and then it was
just taken away. He’s bottled something
inside that’s going to eat at him.
That’s part of what catches your attention and leaves you wondering what
you’re going to do. I was glad to see
his story was coming out because I had questions when meeting him in book
one. That also shows you that you need
to read this series in order.
One moment Jacey Walker’s in the system and the next she’s
not. From what I understand that’s
actually true. It breaks your heart that
people seem to care and then you turn around and they don’t anymore. She puts a voice to something we need to
change. This may be a work of fiction
but it takes on a seriously real subject.
She also has a connection to the first book. So, again, if you haven’t read Wesley yet I would stop and go back and
start there first.
Our author has created some complex characters that have issues of
one kind or another. Wyatt is a good
character when it comes to misjudging people.
He has great parents. They are
willing to give someone a chance and give him or her a helping hand when
needed. But he feels like he has to deal
with things on his own. Jacey is the one
who will voice our questions and go about getting the answers we need. This is both a compelling book and a
compelling series. If you like books
that don’t show anyone as picture perfect and have real life problems than you
may want to check this series out.
