Series:  Gemini Group, #1
Narrators:  Joe Arden & Erin Mallon
Rating:  5 Stars

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this audiobook for review from Valentine PR and the author. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

My Thoughts:

This may be Nixon’s story but the author gives McKenna equal footing so we can get to know both of them. There was chemistry almost from the beginning. Nixon served proudly and now he’s using his expertise in business. McKenna is trying to give her siblings a stable environment. I will admit that on Saturday mornings I watch a lot of the E/I shows. One in particular is called Mission Unstoppable. I could picture McKenna having a spot showing how women can find a place in the coding world.

We have two voice actors that really bring all the characters to life. Mr. Arden and Ms. Mallon both do a great job at changing their voices for all the different characters. I was listening to a certain scene, that Mr. Arden was reading, while at work and I almost burst out laughing. I’m going to leave it up to you to listen so I’ll only give you a one word hint – unicorn. Ms. Mallon made it easy to picture the emotions McKenna was feeling - both the highs and the lows. They made it very easy to concentrate on each scene that they act out – like listening to a play or movie.

Our author has a way of creating some scenes where you’ll want to hold your breath. There are others where you’ll want to cheer for the main characters. She also may have you wanting to check out her character’s neck of the woods – minus all the adventure. With all the craziness going on in the country right now, I can see this being a part of that.

The author made the perfect choice for the first book of the series. You want a book that’s going to grab your attention – a book that you can’t put down. And leave you anticipating the very next book. It’s not a story that you will want any interruptions because you can't put it down until the very last word is spoken. Something that you’ll be pleased to know is that there are seven books in the series and they all have an audio version. Something else you’ll be pleased to know is that both Ms. Mallon and Mr. Arden will narrate all of them. Now I’m patiently waiting to listen to Jameson’s Salvation.
