Blurb:
How hard can it be?
That was the question rolling around Larissa Mason’s mind just before she asked Hollis Hudson to be her fake boyfriend.
It was only supposed to be for five minutes, after all.
Granted, that was also before she felt his hand on the small of her back as he charmed the heck out of her family.
She hadn’t heard his laugh yet either.
And it was definitely before she saw the football god shirtless. Otherwise, she would’ve had an idea of just how hard some things could be.
It turns out that pretending to be in love with a crazily handsome, somewhat enigmatic, and absolutely unforgettable tight end (that has an amazing tight end) is easy.
Reminding herself that just because opposites attract doesn’t mean they’re forever is much harder.
What they have isn’t love—it’s a relationship pact. Right?

My Thoughts:
Prologue is a set up to both the book and the series.
Hollis may sound a little narcissistic which seems to be an interesting way to introduce him to the reader. Larissa is looking for happiness but she has to change her mindset first. This is a story that shows that the word “couple” can mean different things but that it can change over time. It can also be a surprise to those involved.
Sometimes as readers we go into a book with an invisible list of expectations – leave it at the door. This author has surprises at every turn that may not match up to your supposed list. I love being surprised and by letting the author do her job I got plenty.
Some books may seem predictable but I certainly didn’t find that here. When things get that way, we start to pull away from a story. Here, I looked forward to turning the page since I wanted to see if the author created an obstacle or solved an issue or just anything that involved these two. And don’t you want to see if things work out for two people who didn’t seem perfect for each other to begin with? It’s a great introduction to the series and may leave you wanting to read the other two books but doesn’t make you feel lost if you don’t.
