My Thoughts:
Ares Klein doesn’t seem to have any respect for women. Right from the beginning he has me wondering what he’s up to. Is he a man who can be redeemed? Tulip Rose is out of her element when we first meet. She’s going to have some experiences for the first time. Being told from Ares point of view gives us those experiences through his eyes.
Of the two other books that I’ve read in this series, I thought this was hot but not as steamy – which I guess is a good thing with all the hot and hazy days my neck of the woods has been having lately. I didn’t mind the not so steamy though. It adds to what we’re learning about who Tulip is. Ares, just like Beck from the previous book, is very protective.
Depending on how fast a reader you are, you can finish this latest book within an hour or two. This is a good thing for those whose days are very busy but you need to have something that will let you decompress even if only for a short time. So, going back and doing a series read will be no problem since I can get through them in less than a day.
Now that book three is finished, and after I do a series redo, I will have to see what her other works are about. Novellas are a great way to get to know an author’s writing style. A way to see if what she writes is something that you enjoyed and want more of. It’s also a great way to find an author that you’ve never read before.

She fiddles with the wide belt and keeps her gaze down,
hiding from me. “When Stephen and I were sitting at the
bar working yesterday, I heard the girls talking about
giving lap dances and blow jobs for thousands of dollars.
Is that something–”
My mobile hits the floor, and I’m on her before I even
realize I’ve taken her down. Body checking her to the sofa
in the small sitting area, pinning her to the cushion as I
growl at her. “Don’t even fucking think about it.”
Breathless and shocked, she lies still as a statue beneath
me. “Think about what?”
Of its own volition, my hand finds its way to her throat
and her racing pulse throbs against my palm as I squeeze her into submission. “Trying to earn money like that.”
Her head shakes as her eyes widen in surprise. “I wasn’t.
I would never–”
“That’s right. You will never fucking put your mouth
or your body on anyone but me.”
“That’s…”
I loosen my grip around her willowy neck so she manage more than just a whisper. “What?”
“That’s what I wanted to ask you…because I was wondering…if you like those too.”
Jesus. “You want to give me a blow job?”
“I don’t know. I was just kind of curious, and you’ve done
things before…and I haven’t....”

"I mean I don’t even understand why they call it a blow

Every second I spend with her just gets better and better.
I’m so hard for her my entire body hurts, and I know she
feels my desire too with me lying on top of her. I slide back and clutch her hand, lifting her to a sitting position next to
me. My erection almost busts through the gray
material, and I have no choice but to shove down my waistband and release my cock from the barrier.
Plump satin lips purse together as she leans toward me,
and she blows out a few puffs of air against the head,
already glistening with thick white droplets in the slit.
She frowns and shakes her head. “Well that can’t be right.”
Uncertain if I should laugh or beg, I decide tact is a
better option in this situation. She’s being brave and I’m
sure as hell not going to shut her down or disparage her efforts. “It’s not but that’s okay.”
Huge brown eyes meet mine when she looks up.
Imploring me to help her understand. “Then what?”
“Do you really want to know?”
Lust flames in her eyes as she scrutinizes me.
Determining if I’m the one for her to test her skills,
even though that’s already been decided because no
other man touches what’s mine.
