From New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan comes a flirty new standalone about falling for your older brother's best friend.

There’s pretty much only one rule when you’re a guy.

Don’t be a douche.

Turns out, the fastest way to break that rule is to fall for your best friend’s sister.

Ava’s brilliant, sharp-tongued, gorgeous, and five years younger than me.

She’s the sexual equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. And completely off-limits.

Falling for her could ruin everything.

Yet I can’t seem to stop, even when her company is threatened by a lawsuit, and my promotion hinges on representing the opposing client—and winning.

I can’t see a way out of this mess that doesn’t end in a broken friendship, a broken heart, or a ruined career.

I may have broken the bro code when I fell for Ava. But do I have the balls to handle what comes next?

My Thoughts:

Barrett Wilson is having a hard time not crossing that invisible line.  Ava Saunders shows the pressures of being a daughter – some of you may be able to commiserate.  But you may not be able to understand the pressure she’s under.  With this story we get a sense of family.  There’s the blended family and then the one where brother and sister don’t agree.  In the middle of that are two people where one had a crush and one has an invisible line that he doesn’t want to cross.

Now this may sound like it would be serious but our author is very good at putting in situations that will get you to laugh.  I looked forward to those situations and that’s one reason that this is a page-turner.  The other page-turner is the question “will they or won’t they?”  It may be a case of older man/younger woman but the age difference is minimal so I don’t feel that older man/younger woman is accurate.  But if that’s an issue for you, I think you would be ok with this one.  I have to say that Barrett impressed me but he really impressed me toward the end – and so did Ava’s brother.  The author had it come at the perfect time because if it happened earlier it would not have made this the page-turner that I came to love.  Make sure you turn the page at the end too because the author gives her readers a teaser as to what’s up next.
