My Thoughts:
This story has everything going for it right from the start. We have an author whose books I love to read but love to listen to just a little bit more. There are two narrators that know how to bring her characters to life, and that sealed the deal. This is a book that I see myself listening to more than once.
We have a female character that seems to be the nerdy type and proud of it. Her counterpart is a man who hasn’t got a clue until it was almost too late. If you’ve followed the series, you’ll get to reconnect with some of the characters. Breaker and Lia are true opposites attract. The author had me from the moment I found out what Lia’s true name is. The books is good at getting me interested in their life but the audiobook version gives me the emotions that I really want to feel.
There are plenty of laughable moments. If you like word games, what a great way to listen to this. But when you start to laugh, that may play with your concentration so you may want to forget what I just said. But you will find that this is hard to turn off, especially when you are at work. It was a great way to help with the stress of commuting to and from work or going to a medical appointment.
Our author always writes stories that I can’t help but yell at the people that say or do something stupid. The problem is that they never listen to my advice. It just shows how good she is at her job. It’s also why I always look forward to going back for more. This series can be enjoyed in order but if you’re getting to know Breaker first, make sure to check out Huxley’s and JP’s books to get the full Cane Brothers experience.
