He’s always made the scoring plays, both on and off the
ice, but this time he has a new goal … the one for Meghan’s heart.

I’m Justin Davis, all-star center for the Charlotte Strikers. For years, I chased the spotlight, not only with hockey, but through television as well. That’s why I decided to play the bachelor on Rich and Single. Unfortunately, I was stuck with a fake fiancée from hell who I couldn’t stand to be around. Now that our contract is up, I’m allowed to do whatever I want, with whoever I want. I plan to take full advantage of my
newfound freedom.

After being on the show, people don’t recognize me for hockey anymore, even with just winning the Stanley Cup for my team. That’s why I’m spending the off season in a remote cabin in Wyoming where the chances of people knowing me are slim. Space is what I need, but when a down to earth beauty needs help on her ranch, I can’t resist. Meghan Taylor is exactly what I’ve been looking for, even though I’m not the kind of man she wants.

Getting her to see the real me has its challenges, but the more time I spend with her, the easier it is for her to see that I’m not the same guy she knows from TV. Being away from the media is one thing, but as soon as I’m back in the spotlight, I’m afraid it’ll change what we have. I don’t want to lose her, but I also can’t hide away in Wyoming forever. It’s a choice I’m not ready to make.

My Thoughts:

Justin Davis starts this story off on a somewhat high note.  Meghan Taylor has a lot on her plate right now but that doesn’t stop her from knowing what’s important.  I was impressed with how the author created Meghan.  She could have gone one of two ways but in this instance Meghan doesn’t have stars in her eyes when she first comes into contact with Justin.  But she got me to giggle because she may not have stars but that doesn’t stop her from doing what most of us would probably do if we were in her shoes.  Another thing that impressed me was that she didn’t seem to worry, too much, about all the weight she carries on her shoulders but Justin is there when she needs someone to help alleviate some of the pressure.

Justin doesn’t fit into the mold of what you think a hockey player would be like.  In days gone by, you would think of him being someone with a larger than life personality and maybe a couple of teeth missing, or at the very least a gold tooth.  But this Justin seems like a very approachable man.  Justin’s profession isn’t all that this book is about so if I don’t watch a game that’s fine because it’s more of how he is outside of his job.

He’s someone that would be a perfect fit for Meghan’s life.  I loved the romance of this story – it filled my need for the feeling of an old fashioned romance perfectly.  But that’s not to say that I didn’t get the heat that I now crave.  Justin also pulled on my heartstrings when he sets out to fall in love with a certain little girl.  So expect a very sweet ending.

One thing these two did was make me want to go hiking.  I get all these emails about our National Parks and have always wanted to go on vacation and discover what they have to offer.  What better way to check it off my list than to pack my bags, take this book, and go and discover the Grand Tetons.
