Carter Wade doesn’t seem to know how to treat a woman.  It’s all about what he gets out of their time together – and he admits to it.  Sofia Vico just wants to test her womanly wings – a little independence.  You would never think that that’s what will have you on the edge of your seat.  It had me thinking of that commercial where they nix getting in the running car – you know the one.  You’ll want to yell at her “you don’t want to do that!!!”

I loved revisiting this series.  You can consider them standalones but once you read one you will want to know what you’ve missed.  I’m one that did that because somehow I missed a book and was thankful that I didn’t need it in order to enjoy this latest.  In the beginning I wasn’t sure that enjoy was going to make it into my review but that changed once Sofia was in the picture.  She’s young and doesn’t have a normal family dynamic but it was interesting to watch Carter change after they meet.  There are cringe worthy moments but that’s just because of his job.

How can you find romance in the world where they reside in but our authors found a way.  And within that world we get a romantic ending.  We get an Epilogue that’s both happy and sad so that should tell you to plan on a lot of emotion from beginning to end but expect to finish with a smile.
