Muriella Morales is nervous.
Daniel Elliot gives us, and Stone, hints as to why. He seems to have his heart in the right place
– something that he doesn’t want others to see.
Stone Jacobs has come to a decision.
He doesn’t appear to be a man that gives up easily.
This book doesn’t start where the previous book ended. But it didn’t start where the other began
either. That might be the incentive to
read the previous book first. Maybe just
a little bit? Even though this may be
Muriella and Stone’s story it’s also a continuation of Daniel and
Vivian’s. But where the previous book is
seen through the eyes of Daniel and Vivian, this time we get to see everything
through the eyes of our main characters.
I think that was very smart on the part of our authors because you
get more of a sense of their world and who they are that way. I loved how Stone went about getting to know
Muriella and wanted her to feel comfortable around him. The authors were sneaky too because there was
something going on with Muriella that I just couldn’t figure out. Because of that I had to keep reading until
the authors disclosed what was going on.
I was happiest when I got to an ending that was a little bit on the
funny side and left me no choice but to smile.
Make sure you read to the very end because you have to read the
“Book Stuff”.

My Thoughts:
Daniel Elliott starts our story off with a very profound
statement. He seems to have had an
epiphany. I know his purpose but it was
confusing because there were times when I didn’t think his heart was in
it. Vivian DeGraw gets some devastating
news. She’s a woman with a big
heart. She may have been a secondary
character but Muriella became very important.
For me, it was because of what she is to Vivian.
Is this an organized crime story?
Is this a mafia romance? Since
Daniel is so good at what he does only you can decide. But if you love that type of story than it
may just be worth taking a chance on. How
about a story with a woman that doesn’t know what hits her and what to do about
it? I liked her persistence and not give
up on the one person that’s very important to her.
One thing I will say is that the author was so good at what she
does that she made Muriella a shining star here. She’s also good at creating the “wait, what?”
moment. Those are just two reasons to
making this a page-turner. It’s also a
good reason to see what she has planned in the second book in the series –
especially after reading the ending she created here.
