Synopsis:
Being a highly skilled operative for a company like Jameson Force Security is exhilarating and important work…until it comes time to date. I like to keep my profession under wraps for a number of reasons. Some of what we do is top secret, most of what we do is dangerous, and more than one woman has tried to latch onto me because she was more enamored with what I do than who Cage Murdock really is. And since I’m more of a ‘here for the night’ than a ‘here for forever’ kind of guy, what’s the harm in a little white lie about my job? My harmless deceit has never failed me. Until now. Because I met the most amazing woman and did the unthinkable. I married her. And now my beautiful, unsuspecting, probably-going-to-leave-my-sorry-behind-when-she-finds-out-the-truth wife doesn’t know that I’m not a used car salesman like I told her when we met. As it typically does with lies, the truth is about to come out in a big way when Jaime unwittingly gets herself mixed up with some unsavory characters and I, along with the team at Jameson, have to intervene. Now I need to save my girl and hope I can save my marriage too. Let’s just say I have some serious explaining to do.

My Thoughts:
Cage just wants some time to be himself. And like any man he has his toys. He also has a lady that he’d like to impress. Jaime loves her family but one of them seems to get under her skin – some of you might be able to relate to that. When she meets Cage, she’s met a force like no other.
I know the author says these are all standalones but if you really want to experience Jameson’s you need to go back to where it first started then follow all the way up to this current tale. Cage also happens to mention a club that the author wrote a series around. If you like a book with some heat I would check it out – after you finish this book of course.
This was a romance that I felt mainly came from the man’s perspective. We do get Jaime’s thoughts but since the series revolves around the business Cage works for I just felt that the story was a little more about Cage - that’s not a bad thing. We do get both perspectives but it’s nice to see the man put in the effort to go after the woman he wants. They are two people who compliment each other. Our author does such a great job in creating them that you can picture them living, and working, somewhere in the real world.
The author still gives us the suspense that makes this a great series to keep returning to. We get to see some of the other characters that we’ve met from previous books. And the current book always leaves me wanting more of the people that work for Jameson Force Security. The author started to make me smile as I was getting toward the ending but when I got to the very end I broke out into a wide grin since I found out there’s going to be another book in the series – now I just have to learn patience.
