Clemente wants to keep a strict business attitude. Caterina is a multi-faceted woman. Our author shows how serious the lives of these characters are. She shows the tangled web that can happen as our couple come to grow together. It was fun to watch how she created a serious moment and twisted it so we get a chuckle out of what they’re thinking.
There are sad moments, moments that show what a mafia family is about, and there are glimmers of happiness. It’s a great combination when it comes to deciding if this was a page-turner or not. It’s like a soap opera. You get so involved you don’t want to stop. One major difference is there are no commercials to interrupt your enjoyment. Another difference is the heat level and Clemente’s moments of romance.
This may appear as a standalone but I became interested in learning more about Clemente’s family. Because of that, I will need to go back and read Unruly Defender. I liked this book, as well as the author’s writing style, and was left wanting to learn more about Gracy. I hope that when you get to the end of either book that you will sign up for the author’s newsletter so you can keep up with what she is working on.
