They say, once a hero always a hero and nothing could be more true for Jimmy. When Jimmy receives a call from an unknown number, he wastes no time in saving the damsel in distress.
Emma has made one bad decision after another. When a man 20 years older than her saves her from her latest bad decision, she wants to stay safely wrapped around him.
When the world throws them together then rips them apart, they must decide if what they feel is worth taking a chance on.
Jimmy is a man that I want in my corner should I ever get into trouble. Emma has picked the right man for the job. Their story is a May/December romance. I might have said friendship but they don’t really get there since they don’t seem to stay in the same place at the same time for very long. You can also tell how young she is and how much life experience Jimmy has.
The authors don’t write anything that will make you feel uncomfortable if you’re not into the older man/younger woman read. But if you have read the first two books we have characters from those two books that make an appearance. The way this story was written, you don’t have to have read them in order to be able to enjoy this one but hopefully you’ll want to know what the other characters stories are all about.
Many years ago I hated reading a story from the point of view of the character. Now I love it because I get to really see what they’re thinking – especially when it comes to the person that will come to mean so much to them. With this book we get to see the regrets Emma has but you also see that she seems to keep making mistakes but I think that’s more age related. That’s also one way that we see the age difference between our main characters. You also get a sense of Jimmy’s apprehension when it comes to Emma and how it affects her. There’s a scene where he actually talks to her about his concerns and that’s just one thing that adds some realism to the story. The ending couldn’t be more perfect because it speaks at to who these two people are. But I didn’t feel as if they put a final period to their relationship. Maybe we’ll see them appear somewhere else?
Raised all over the country, I'm a interesting mix of East Coast meets West Coast with a little bit of Southern thrown in, just for good measure. I married a sexy man in uniform who let me spawn and am now raising a mutinous army of hell raisers that I created myself, all while he defends our country. I drink too much coffee until it's late enough to drink too much wine and am sexually frustrated for your freedom. If you see me online, I'm probably sitting in a closet, hiding from my kids.

Fluent in sarcasm, Supernatural, and song lyrics, I like talking to people and finding what makes them tick, though that probably has to do with the Psychology degree. I’m up before the sun because my kids don’t sleep, chugging tea and coffee to keep my eyes open and my brain semi functional. Being married to a man in uniform means I’ve lived a lot of places, survived seeing my husband for half the amount of time I’ve been married, and spent a lot of time raising my kids alone.
I love to write messed up psychos with lots of angst, happily ever afters that have to be worked for. Women with sass and backbone, men with a twisted hero complex and the need to control are my favorite to read as well as write.
