Julian Dane is a man who’s turned
his life around. Kendall Parker can
almost relate to Julian. They both show
that it’s all right to get help – we just can’t be afraid to ask for it. There’s a secondary character that doesn’t
say anything, has an interesting name and has me wanting to spend some time
with her myself. This story shows the
power of having a pet in your life. We
help them by adopting them out of a shelter but they do so much more for us.
What I liked about this second
chance story is that Julian is like a dog with his tail between his legs. He’s really sorry but he still has to work at
forgiveness. Kendall was strong even
though she’s working through her own issues – she was cautious about starting
another relationship with Julian. These
are two people who have issues and work hard at not falling back on old habits. There are people with demons that speak louder
to some and seeing someone helps quiet them down. Kendall shows how much she has grown as she
tries to work through her new relationship with Julian. And it surprises me because of everything
this author throws in his path.
If you love a story that is very
emotional and have you wanting things to work out between the main characters
than this book may be for you. You don’t
need to read the first three books in order to enjoy this one. But if you want to know more about Kendall’s
sister, and maybe how our main characters got here in the first place, you
might want to check out the first book in the series titled Going Down Easy. This is a story with lots of ups and downs
with people constantly having to prove that they’ve changed. It also comes with the perfect ending for our
couple.
