Title: Healing
Author: S. P. Aruna
Series: Girl within Girl Book 2
Genre: Erotic Thriller
Publisher: BookBaby
Release Date: Sept 3 2017
Edition ~ 1st /Formats ~ eBook
Rating:  4 Stars
Told in the first person.  Alternating persons.

**** Disclosure of Material: I received a final and/or advanced reader copy of this book from RBTL Book Promotions and the Author/Publisher with the hope that I will leave my Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... My Opinions. I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising". *****

Blurb/Synopsis:

Trapped in a mountain cabin with three, possibly four, women...every guy's dream, right? Or could it turn out to be a nightmare?

Dr. Sean Paisley needs to find out how to bring these women together - his survival depends on it. To make matters worse, he's in love with all of them...made passionate love to all of them. Throw in a nasty grizzly bear and the dark forces of the government and the situation becomes even more dire.

In the end, he was stuck with Belinda, a hysterical, suicidal, homicidal maniac of a person, confined together in the wilderness of the onset of winter. Now both their lives were at stake.

** Girl Within Girl is a dark erotic thriller that wanders through a sensual maze of manipulation and mind control. **

Dr. Sean Paisley has a relationship with Katrina that you see if you’ve read book one.  In order to understand these characters you must read Unraveling first.  You will have a better understanding as you start learning where our characters are and what continues to unfold.  Plus Dr. Paisley is the one that may be able to help us answer any questions that may have come up with the first book.

I love that our characters still seem to be talking to us – makes us a part of what is being revealed.  Katrina is still fighting with Cherry and Anisa but we also have the mystery of a woman named Belinda.  Finding there’s another character to this growing story will grab your attention – looking to see where this mystery will take you.

Just like the previous story, the author adds in an erotic element.  Those moments never seem out of place.  They fit in perfectly with the characters she has created.  And before I knew it the ending was upon me and found it unsettling because I didn’t want it to end.  But I understand that the author doesn’t want to drag anything out because it would change the feel of the story.  I’ll just have to wait to see what else she has up her sleeve.

Dr. Sean Paisley
The valium, together with my weariness, knocked me off my ass. I thought I was good until morning. I was wrong. In the depths of the night, which I consider to be around 3:00 AM, I woke up to a shadowy figure looming over me, a feminine outline against the pale moonlight streaming through the front window. Her arm was outstretched, an object in her hand - a gun - Anisa’s gun, pointed at my head, but I sensed it wasn’t Anisa holding it. “Belinda?”
“I can’t stand it anymore, all those horrible memories, playing over and over in my head, its torture. It has to end now, doctor. It’s a nightmare but I know how to end it...for the both of us.”
“No, listen, there’s another way.” I had to think fast, I needed to call one of the alter personalities, but who? Neither Katrina nor Cherry knew how to handle a gun. They might freak out and shoot me accidentally. It had to be Anisa. After all, it was her gun. “One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.”
The woman in the dark remained motionless as my heart pumped like a jackhammer. After what seemed like forever, she lowered her arm. “Very careless of you, Doc, leaving my gun around.”
She startled me as she stepped forward, but it was only to switch on the lights. She opened the gun and emptied the bullets from the revolver. I got up from my bed, a deerskin mat on the floor, and she handed all of it to me.
“Hide that from all of us, including me. At this point the gun’s more of a risk than protection.”

RBTL Presents: A Dark Journey Into The Light by Josef; #OnSale, #99Pennies, #LimitedTime

¸.•´¸.•*´¨)✯ ¸.•*¨)
✮ (¸.•´✶ (¸.•` a dark Journey into the light by Josef Smith

Blurb/Synopsis:

A dark Journey into the light is an interesting and thought provoking read for anyone who has questioned urges and desires familiar to us all. I spent sixty years of my life in “limbo” trying to understand what was driving me to explore every fantasy I could find. We all enjoy sex but the book provides interesting insights into the workings of the mind of a sex addict. We are much more than what we feel, and less than what we think. This book explores what is possible when we find balance between the two. This is not a story of finding redemption through “finding God”. It’s simply the story of finding myself.

ON SALE for .99¢ LIMITED TIME ONLY

Josef

a dark Journey into the light was a lifetime in the making and more than 2 years in the writing. One of the biggest issues in life is sex and people usually make a choice. They either follow their desires, or they don't. This book looks at the issues that arose, and the conflict of emotions I had to deal with when I chose both, although it more correctly felt like they chose me.

Life became an exercise in learning about myself by exploring what "lies beneath" as it reared it’s head and found it’s way to the surface. There was no way around the exploration because the battle for supremacy raging between the two was inside me. What was the war all about and what would become of me? I am so much more than what I feel, and much, much less than what I think. This book is my journey of continuing self-discovery as I move through the mystery we call life.

The book is an autobiography so it's pretty much all about me and who I am. I suppose there are a few small things that aren't covered. For instance, I like dogs and horses and I love gardening. I'm a country boy and grew up with spiders and snakes, and although I'm not keen on spiders if one crawls up my trouser leg they don't freak me out either. A snake up the trouser leg though would be a different story! Think “a hillbilly version of River Dance.” I love long hikes over the mountains or across the plains. Just as long as I'm walking somewhere, but at times I wonder if I'm just trying to leave something behind.

Before he knew it, his feet moved of their own volition. He followed the sound; it felt like he was the only one to hear the series of whispers and murmurs. He walked until he stopped in front of a large greenhouse.
“Hello?” Terrance said.
When he spoke, the murmurs stopped. He frowned but stepped closer to the door; it was ajar.
“Hello? Is anyone in here?” Terrance called out.
No response. He was about to give up and turn around when he heard a soft feminine voice speak.
“You must be very special if you were able to hear my voice from so far away.”
Terrance was slightly taken aback by what he heard. He didn’t like using words like ‘special’ to describe himself. He was who he was, nothing more…nothing less. He still couldn’t pinpoint the stranger’s exact location; it was as if she was everywhere at once. Who was she? Why couldn’t he see her?
Once more, his curiosity drove him to step inside the greenhouse and find the source of the hypnotic voice. He was amazed at the humidity inside, everything smelled like wet wood. There was condensation on all the glass and metal surfaces. There were terracotta pots sitting on shelves all along the wall. The white paint was peeling off the walls and the place felt abandoned and unkempt. He walked around the greenhouse until he found a hole in the ground and a set of stairs that went further underground. Against his better judgment, he went downstairs. He noticed right away that the steps were made of the bare earth. The room was dark, but thanks to the eyesight he inherited from his father, he was able to see. There were roots everywhere.
On the ceiling.
On the walls.
On the ground.
Terrance took a step back and tripped over an overgrown tree-root. Something about this place made him feel suffocated and slightly claustrophobic as though the walls would cave in and consume him. Buried alive.
“Looking for something? Or someone? ” the voice asked.
A swirl of leaves, bark and flower petals circled around Terrance. His heart hammered against his chest. Should he stay still? Should he leave? For the first time in his life, he was completely unsure of what to do.
“Do not fret…I bear you no ill will,” the voice said as her face and body slowly began to take shape. Blue-black flower petals made up her hair. Her skin was made from soft looking, dark caramel bark. Her eyes were the color of golden amber. Her feet and toes were like the roots on a tree. Her dress was made of up of light pink rose petals that reached her knees. Once her transformation was complete, Terrance admitted to himself that she was beautiful. So very different from the way Bianca looked but that was why he loved her so much. She wasn’t like anyone he had ever met before. His heart ached for his missing love.
Who is she? He wondered as he continued to study at the strange creature before him.
The woman grinned, and that made him wonder if she had heard his thoughts. It wouldn’t have surprised him, but he made a mental note to be careful what he thought while he was standing around her.
She went back to her task of talking to the roots on the ceiling and the flowers in the garden.
“Who are you?” he asked.
“Blodeuwedd. The Spring Queen,” she whispered.

Blurb/Synopsis:
Robert Morton is in for the surprise of a lifetime. His mother, a bit of a rebel, raised him away from the rest of the family, and it’s not until he’s contacted by his lawyer about an inheritance that he learns who he truly is: the new Earl of Hantford. His legacy includes ownership of the historic Ashton Park Estate—which needs repairs Robert cannot afford. He’ll simply do what the nobility has done for centuries when in need of money. He’ll marry it.
Tech wizard Daniel Fabian is wealthy and successful. In fact, he has almost everything—except a title to make him worthy in the eyes of the old-money snobs he went to prep school with. His high school reunion is looming, and he’s determined to attend it as a member of the aristocracy.
That’s where Robert comes in.
Daniel has the money, Robert has the name, and both of them know they can help each other out. But their marriage of convenience has the potential to become a real love match—unless a threat to Daniel’s business ruins everything.

My Thoughts:
Robert Morton gets the shock of his life. For how his life has turned around, he actually has the perfect job. Daniel Fabian has done very well for himself. These two seem to have a similar goal and use that to help the other. Robert has a mother that I fell in love with and I was glad to see how much of a champion she is for her son.

This author creates characters that always seem to be very relatable. Some people may not be fans of the LGBTQ literature but I don’t think they’ve read Mr. Grey’s work before. People are finally coming to realize that we are all human and we all deserve respect and love. There were judgments based on incorrect notions without getting to know the person. In this story, we get to see the character’s relationship build over the course of the story and what may have started as one thing ends up with a great happy ending. The story seems to move so quickly that it’s over before I realize it. Good news is that I can see myself reading this story more than once.

This time of year, we don’t want to read a story that’s going to bring us down. Robert and Daniel work hard at giving us an enjoyable read. My problem is that they make me want to take a couple of trips and have them as tour guides. I want to experience New York with them and then travel to where they live and get the royal treatment there. So instead I’ll just have to bring this book with me. Can’t wait to see what my next adventure with this author will be.

Excerpt:
Robert turned off the engine and blinked in disbelief. “You know I’m gay, Mum. I’m not going to marry a woman.”
“No. But I bet there is a gay man with a lot of money who would marry you for the chance to become a count.” She held up her hand. “Wives of earls are countesses, so the husband of an earl could be a count. Think about it. All you have to do is find someone who wants a title and marry him. Of course, he’d have to have piles of money, but you’re an earl. Meeting people with money shouldn’t be a problem.”
He knew his mother was falling in love with the idea. The only problem was that she wasn’t the one who was going to have to marry someone for money. Granted, he hadn’t had much luck in the love-life department, but still he wasn’t particularly interested in selling himself so he could fix up some family estate he hadn’t known existed until a few days ago.
“Mum. That’s crazy.”
“No, it’s not. I’m not saying you need to marry some prig you hate. But think about it. Earls and dukes have been doing this sort of thing for centuries. Who knows what you could get out of it? We got bloody Churchill from that kind of relationship. His mother was an American heiress.” The more she warmed up to the idea, the more Robert wanted to crawl under the car and hide.
“That’s enough. Like I said, I need to see what’s in the estate and what my options are before I throw myself off the arranged marriage cliff.”
“Who says it’s an arranged marriage? There are dating sites and things like that on the Internet. We’ll simply find you a gay matchmaker or something, like that show on American television.” Her excitement made him more uncomfortable by the second. Where had this idea come from and how did he get it out of her head? “You go ahead and look into the estate. I’m going to go look into some things on my end.”
“Mum. Just stop this whole thing right now. I’ll come up with a plan to try to figure out what I’m going to do after my trip to the States. I don’t need your help getting myself married off to some rich guy for his money. That isn’t the kind of life that I want. None of this is.”
He could see how his entire way of life was about to change. Up until now his life had been the law firm and trying to help people who couldn’t help themselves. And now he was supposed to be the Earl of Hantford and all that entailed, including looking after a huge pile of a house because it had been in his family… the family that had disowned his mother. This whole thing rubbed him the wrong way, and all he wanted was a way out of this mess. Selling everything seemed like that way to go. He could be rid of it and that would be that. Pay the taxes, put the rest in trust for the next generation, wherever what would come from, and say to hell with it all.
One look at his mother’s set jaw and the gleam in her eyes told him that wasn’t going to happen. Not even close. Lord help him—he was going to need it.
