F*ck Cancer Anthology: Keep Calm and Fight On; #ReleaseBlitz

IT'S LIVE!

Cancer.

It’s a vile and ugly word. Some of you may have only been
touched by it through friends and loved ones, or maybe someone you know in
passing. Either way, it’s a horrible disease, and one that can’t be fought
alone. Whether you are the one battling it personally, or being the rock for
someone else, it’s a war that is fought daily. It’s a sickness that sneaks up
on you, but the devastation is always the same. The pain, the anger, and the
sadness will affect everyone in varying degrees.

The amazing authors of this anthology came together for one
purpose—to help a special person who was diagnosed with Stage Three Breast
Cancer fight back, but to also give hope to others. Whether you are fighting
this battle currently, fought it in the past, know someone who is fighting it
now, or even if you don’t, this Anthology is filled with short stories that
were written to give you hope. This fight can
be won. But, most importantly, to show there are people out there who are
willing to help.

You are not alone.

All book sale proceeds will be donated to a woman that is near
and dear to our hearts. Elaine Holcomb had to sacrifice so much, yet has gained
so little. Our hope is to help her out with costs of treatment so she doesn’t
have to worry about anything other than fighting this disease and getting
better. It may not be enough to cover everything, but in this fight, even the
smallest of things can go a long way.

So here’s to the fight against Cancer, and everyone who is
battling against it—directly or indirectly. Keep calm & fight on.

But most of all…F*ck Cancer!

Saints & Sinners Book Promotions Presents: Damaged by Evelyn Paige; #PubliversarySale & #Review

Rating:  4.5 Stars
Told in the first person.

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from Saints and Sinners and the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Evie Carter has faced trials and tribulations her entire life. Her teenage years have been ripped away from her as she battles cancer. Just when things can’t get any worse, her doctor delivers the news that it’s finally time to make a life or death decision. Her options are limited and come with deadly consequences. The miracle drug that is meant to save her life changes her on a cellular level. She might not be damaged anymore, but she might just be damned in her new life.

My Thoughts:

This story has a very sad beginning and seems more commonplace than it used to be.  It’s a great incentive to make a donation to a children’s charity.  Evie Carter certainly is a great advocate for making a donation to St. Jude’s.

A child, teen, or young adult should have a chance to grow up and experience life and love.  Evie gives a voice for those that feel the same.  I won’t lie, the beginning is hard to read – so depending on how sensitive you are, keep some tissue handy.  This is especially hard if you know someone who is going through something similar.

Just when you think this is going to be one of those stories with no happy ending (and only you can decide if it is a happy one or not), Evie has a life-changing event.  It certainly puts a twist on alternative treatments.  If you love shows like The Flash, Arrow, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow; you just may enjoy this first book in the Damaged Series.

This is a story that makes you think.  You will still enjoy the tale that this author has woven but in the back of your mind, you have to wonder if any of this is actually possible.  Are there people of authority that we are brought up to trust that are actually breaking that trust by trying to play God.  And then there are secondary characters that you will have to decide if they are good or walking on the side of evil.  All I’ll tell you about the Epilogue is that it gets you ready for book two (I think) of the series titled Deceived.  I know that I’m looking forward to it.

Bloody…broken…barely surviving…

Danae “Dani” Espinoza is on the run and desperate to escape the demons of her past. Plans to hide out in a sleepy Los Angeles suburb turn into a pipe dream as she is drawn into the secret filled world of the local motorcycle club. Dani soon learns that her secrets and lies are nothing compared to those kept behind the clubhouse doors. Trying to avoid the suspicious Vice President, she must keep a low profile in order to survive. The trouble is he has other ideas.

Bike…babes…and booze…

Tyler "Hero" Tobias has simple needs. Being the Heaven's Rejects MC Vice President, he has all three at his disposal. But he has his own ghosts that keep him awake at night. When Dani arrives at the clubhouse, he knows he should stay away but there is something about her dark beauty and the mystery that surrounds her that makes him burn. There are secrets in her eyes and lies in her smile and he knows he should put his club first, but Hero’s heart and loyalty are about to be tested.

Can an angel with blood-covered wings and the devil himself resist temptation or will they risk bringing hellfire down on everything that they love?

Abandoned & Broken

Left alone to raise a family, widower Darcy Kyle’s life has spiraled out of control. When secrets about her husband’s past emerge, Darcy is forced to confront the fact her husband’s fatal accident may, in fact, have been deliberate. Forced to sell her soul to the Devil himself, Darcy must uncover the truth of her husband’s accident…before it’s too late.

Betrayed & Bitter

Cast into Hell, Raze has given his life as President of the Heaven’s Rejects MC, but what good is it when he can’t protect the people he cares about? His brother’s death, his wife’s betrayal… it’s too much for a mere mortal to handle. Luckily for Raze, he is the ruler of this Hell on Earth. But even the Devil has a weakness, and when Darcy Kyle sticks her nose in the club’s business he finds himself questioning his loyalty to his brother’s memory.

How can the Devil resist an angel bathed in the ashes of the fallen?
