Wicked Billionaire
Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #9
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: August 4, 2020
Rating:  4.5 Stars
Told in the first person.  Alternating persons.

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Synopsis:

As the prince of a luxury hotel empire, I am as close to American royalty as one can get. I grew up accustomed to a certain lifestyle. One where people give me what I desire and anything, or anyone, else can be bought. Everyone wants a piece of me, yet no one is actually deserving of my time.

That changes when Bailey Robbins, the smoking hot housekeeper in one of my hotels, catches my attention. Sure, she has curves for days but it’s her smart mouth I can’t help but be intrigued by. I may have avoided relationships all my life, but something about her makes me want to introduce her to my world.

The darker, wicked side of Declan Blackwood.

My Thoughts:

Declan is a man whose all about number one.  He also doesn’t appreciate being taken down a peg.  As I get to know him, I think he would be great as the star in a revival of Scrooge.  Bailey voices thoughts that I’m sure are the same as those that may be in the same position.  She certainly knows how to stand up for herself.

The author has made two characters that couldn’t be more polar opposite.  There’s one I sympathize with and the other I want to kick...  I’ll let you guess which is which.  Good thing this is a work of fiction because someone is so full of themselves that I’m surprised they can get through a door.  Plus, they haven’t got a clue.  There are times where you think redemption is in sight but old habits die hard.  But I was happy to see that there was someone there to show them the way.

This is a case of the author saving the best for last – you might find your body temperature rising.  She’s great at always creating a work where you want to go back for more.  The good news is that I may check out another one of her series but can come back here at any time.  Declan did leave me wondering if we actually saw the last of him or will he and Bailey make an appearance at another point in time.

Wicked Secret
Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #8
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: May 26, 2020
Rating:  4.5 Stars
Told In The First Person.  Alternating Persons.

Synopsis:

Those that truly know August Greenfield, will tell you that I live my life to the fullest. Work hard as part of the team at Jameson Force Security but play just as hard at The Wicked Horse Vegas. I have no regrets about my life.

Well, maybe just one.

Leighton Hale was my first love and the woman I wanted to spend my life with, but one day she was just gone. Vanished without a trace. Even my extensive contacts as part of the team at Jameson left me empty-handed in my search for answers. My single remorse is never being able to find out what happened to her, because no matter how difficult the truth may be, it can’t be as bad as never knowing at all.

Ten years later, a knock on my front door brings me face-to-face with the woman I thought I’d never see again and nothing in my life could have prepared me for the secrets she holds.

My Thoughts:

August Greenfield is enjoying all that life has to offer.  Leighton Glendale hates her life right now.  This story has tension and suspense but it also has heart.  The author always does a great job at blending what is imaginary with what may seem plausible.

Our author has created at least one character that people may be able to relate to.  And personally, there are some things that I can.  You may even know someone that may be a close fit.  At the very least it will pull at the heartstrings.  This could be the moment you realize that this story is going to be a page-turner.  Part of that may also be that you will have no trouble feeling the emotions that August and Leighton are feeling.  This is just one way that the author humanizes her characters.

I always love the amount of heat our author can create with just her words.  She knows just the right combination that's needed in order for those scenes to play out in my head.  This time, she added someone that may be quiet but he steals his scenes anyway.  Maybe it was because of my recent change of situation but it started to become hard not to have a tear appear in the corner of my eye.  She doesn't let me get in too deep though because she knows what I need to lift me up and concentrate on the heat between August and Leighton.  She also gave me suspense to keep my mind occupied.  I was left feeling that their story isn't over yet and I didn't mind it one bit.  That just means that I will have to keep following the series in order to see if they will have a chance to get their happily ever after.

#ReleaseBlitz: Wicked Angel by Sawyer Bennett; #NowAvailable, #OutNow, #Live, #Review

Wicked Angel
Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #6
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: August 6, 2019
Rating:  4.5 Stars
Told in the first person. Alternating persons.

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Synopsis:

First there was pain, and now there is just… nothing. No one can ever understand the losses I’ve suffered. A solitary existence that consists of my work and the empty house that serves as a constant reminder of all I have lost.

After months of paralyzing emptiness, I turn to The Wicked Horse so I can feel something. Anything, really. Any shred of emotion that will explain why I’m still here. Any justification for why my life was spared and theirs were not.

It’s all in vain. Not even the debauchery of the notorious sex club can fill the hollowness that consumes me.

Until she walks in.

Absolutely perfect. Gorgeous and bends to my will. Gives me her body willingly, while expecting nothing more from me than the pleasure I offer her. And the more she gives, the more I find myself wanting to take.

Wanting to crawl out of my personal hell for this wicked angel.

My Thoughts:

Benjamin Hewitt is looking for something that will help him get his humanity back. Elena Costieri is looking for something that will help her trust again. Don’t let these two descriptions fool you because these two will capture your attention almost from the beginning.

Sometimes authors give their characters challenges that some of their readers can relate to. There are even times where you have to feel sorry for what they have to deal with. Even though the series is about a club called Wicked Horse, the author shows that our characters have a life outside of what goes on inside. And sometimes that life comes with challenges.

Personally, I think this is our author’s most addictive book to date. There’s just something about the heat these two characters seem to generate that you will want to see how she has their story progress. The author also leaves some things to your imagination – you can make it as hot or as tame as you want.

Elena has a great sounding board in friend Jorie. If you want to know more about her and her husband Walsh you have two choices. You won’t need to read their story first in order to get to know Benjamin and Elena. But if this is your first dive into the Wicked Horse Vegas series at least make your next book Wicked Wish. Or you can start there and then finish with this couple. You can get this book finished in a matter of a couple of hours so if you have no plans why not get to know more about some of the members of the Vegas division of the Wicked Horse.

#ReleaseBlitz: Wicked Knight by Sawyer Bennett; #NowAvailable, #OutNow, #Live, #Review

Wicked Knight
(Wicked Horse Vegas, Book #5)
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: January 1, 2019
Rating:  4.5 Stars
Told in the first person.  Alternating persons.

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Synopsis:

He never wanted to be anyone’s hero…

Asher Knight is tall, dark, and wickedly handsome. He’s also irrevocably broken. Submerging himself in long hours at work by day and debauchery at The Wicked Horse by night, Asher uses work and play to numb the pain and guilt he feels over the death of his wife. What isn’t satisfied with one will surely be resolved by the other. At least that’s how he’s survived the last few years.

Hannah Madigan works three jobs just to make ends meet. Beat down by life, not to mention a cheating husband who was unfairly awarded custody of their daughter, Hannah is determined to make a better life for herself and get her kid back. But with pressures mounting and one costly mistake that leaves her owing Asher a huge debt, Hannah is as close as she’s ever come to throwing in the towel.

She’s given a golden opportunity…

Determined to stay the course by any means necessary, Hannah accepts an unusual proposal from Asher. He’ll give her a job. She’ll give him her body. Sounds easy, right? Until she realizes she needs his help more than she’s willing to admit. And he finds her adding to his life in ways he never wanted to accept.

This wicked knight may just learn that sometimes saving someone else means allowing yourself to be saved in return.

Download WICKED KNIGHT:

My Thoughts:

Asher Knight is so sure of himself – both in business and his personal life.  He seems to enjoy showing us how much money he has.  Is he trying to impress or remind people of what they don’t have?  Hannah Madigan can’t seem to catch a break.  It’s sad to read and will tug at your heart.  What makes it even sadder is that there are real women out there going through some of the same challenges.

Asher comes up with an interesting proposition.  Some may say it’s a slap in the face and some may consider it flattering.  Some may even say “hell no!” and others may consider it an escape.  I found it an interesting temptation for Hannah but it left me wondering if the author is silently asking her readers, “what would you do?”  Besides showing off her creativity, our author gives us a secondary character that seems so full of himself and who seems to feed off seeing others suffer.  She made it very easy for me to hate him – he’s the villain of this piece.

One thing that got me turning the page was to see if he gets his just deserts.  Another thing that got me hooked was wanting to see if everything turned out all right for Hannah.  Hers was a situation that constantly seemed to be beating her down and I so wanted to see her fight back – to show her strength.  The last thing was getting introduced to her cute incentive.  It can be considered an empowering story for one character but it took me a while to warm up to our “hero”.

This may be a Wicked Horse story but not much is actually seen taking place there.  There are hints of the club but this story is all about the couple, all about the heat and steam.  The author leaves enough for your imagination to take over – so you can make it as sweet or as hot as you want.  And that’s why I consider this book to be tame compared to the other books in the series.  But if you’re liking the series you’ll be happy to know that it looks like Ms. Bennett isn’t done with it quite yet – and it’s a crossover to boot.
