My Thoughts:

This is a book that is nothing more than a big tease. It’s a good tease but it’s a little sad at the same time. But just like in life, as one ends another begins. I can’t say that there’s any romance here but for some of the characters it is romantic – you just may need to fill in the blanks.

I found it a great way to introduce you to new characters or maybe they are characters that you briefly met in a previous book. They may be a little bit older – a case of the next generation. My favorite character, who may have seemed to be a secondary character but was so much more, makes a brief appearance. It felt both happy and bittersweet.

We have two Baileys, Easton and Calista, that have situations which left me curious. They get this book started and then we get to meet some of the extended family. One of the characters, Evie Stone, reminded me of how much I loved spending time with my grandparents – brought back lots of happy memories. Another character that I enjoyed meeting was Palmer Ferguson. She’s a teen who has had to learn to deal with what life has handed to her. I was impressed with the authors for creating a young lady who didn’t seem to feel sorry for herself because of those challenges. Our authors make us feel as if we are a part of this celebration and we’re just catching up on all the family gossip.

Even though this story revolves around a birthday gathering, I think this is a book that you could also read around the holidays. I’m hoping that we won’t have to wait long for the authors’ new series to start and just maybe a few of the Baileys will make an appearance. Also looking forward to the happy feelings to continue.

Rule #1 – Don’t stand in the way of your brothers who want to rough him up.

Rule #2 – Don’t meet him for coffee and agree to allow him to meet your daughter.

Rule #3 – Don’t drool when your daughter falls asleep on his chest for the first time. It’s just your ovaries talking.

My Thoughts:

Sedona reminds the reader about a Bailey baby shower. If you’re starting the series here you might feel a little lost not having met this family before. Jamison isn’t sure how he’s going to reclaim what he has lost. At the beginning of this story, there’s no way that you will feel that there are any winners in this story.

I fell in love with this series the moment I met Grandma Dori. She may be a secondary character but she is the glue of this family. She’s given me plenty of chuckles as I get to know her and her family. Dori is the one person that hooked me and made it impossible for me to not look and see when the next book is coming out.

Our authors created another secondary character that made me fall in love just a little more. She’s a little girl with challenges but she doesn’t realize that she has any. She also has a great support system and you can feel the love come off the pages. I came to the point where I started looking for her as scenes went by.

Our authors also keep us up-to-date on the rest of the family. They’re very good in not letting the other characters take over the current story. The family is important to the storyline and we do get to hear their opinions but it’s still about Sedona and Jamison. It’s hard not to miss the heat they create when they’re in the same space. The ending left me with a smile on my face. I hope you are a reader that looks what’s beyond that point. You won’t be disappointed if you do because the authors have given the reader a little gift. If you’re loving this series like I do than maybe you did a happy dance too.
