The Montgomery Ink Fort Collins series begins with two second chance romances from the heart and have all the heat.
Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins Collection, a second chance romance collection featuring Inked Persuasion and Inked Obsession from New York Times bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan is available now!
Inked Persuasion
Years ago, Annabelle Montgomery married not for love but for a promise of hope. When she lost him weeks later, she told herself she never needed those sentiments again. Only when she discovers years later that her new neighbor is her late husband’s brother, Annabelle finds she can’t quite shake the emotions she’s long since buried.
Jacob Queen vowed he’d never set eyes on Annabelle again. When they’re forced into each other’s lives once more, they realize that no matter how far they run, no distance can keep them apart forever. More than ghosts lay between them, and when they finally give in to temptation, walking away whole may no longer be an option.
Inked Obsession
When men in uniform showed up on Eliza Wilder-Strong’s doorstep, she knew her life would be irrevocably altered. She not only lost her husband, but the future she’d carefully planned. A year later, she’s looking to start over—beginning with a solo healing vacation. Only she never expects to see a familiar, tempting face along the way.
Beckett Montgomery refuses to want his little sister’s best friend—especially because she’s a widow. Yet there’s no stopping the connection between them. As the temptation to give in intensifies, so do the reasons they shouldn’t stay together.
Painful ghosts from both of their pasts stand in their way and sometimes it’s the living that can haunt you when you’re not looking.
The final Montgomery finds his match in this touching second chance romance from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.
I thought I was moving on from my divorce, but now my ex is marrying someone else. I shouldn’t be this broken up, but it’s hard to put on a brave face when my family is basically an inked up Hallmark movie.
And I shouldn’t be brooding about what I don’t have, if it’s going to cause me to fall off a roof. Right into the grumpy neighbor’s burly arms.
He’d make a nice distraction, except he wants nothing to do with the burning attraction between us. Until one accidental kiss leads to more.
I’m not ready to risk my heart again, but Killian’s tortured eyes don’t seem to give me a choice. This thing between us is real.
But Killian is still trying to recover from a tragedy. And there are people who will do anything to make sure he never finds happiness again.

This is set up as chapters but they’re mini novellas that catch you up on some of your favorite Montgomery’s. Between each chapter are recipes that connect to the story you just read. It’s a great combination and had me wonder why I haven’t seen something like this before. I’ve seen books where the recipes come at the end but it’s summertime where I am and the way this book is set up is perfect.
We finally have access to fresh fruit and vegetables in my area. Why not add some of that bounty to one of the dishes. With the current grocery store issues you also may need to make substitutions in a recipe. I had that with the loaded potato dip. It called for waffle fries. None were to be had at the store I was in. And if you’re like me, I’m not going to drive all over the place, looking for an ingredient, so I worked with what the store had (and just a side note, the dip was also good with chips).
I loved catching up with all the family members in here and seeing what they might make to enjoy together. It could become an incentive to go back and reread their beginnings. Although this is not where you want to start if you haven’t met this big family before because you really don’t have a backstory – this is their present. This was a great collaboration and I look forward to seeing if there will be any more like this in our/their future.

SPICE IT UP!
Luc
There were times when I knew exactly what to say. When I was ready to face the oncoming questions of being a father of four and to settle any problem that came my way. My kids were the center of my world, just like my wife. Yet something was bothering my oldest daughter, and I could not figure out what it was. And neither could Meghan, with the way that she kept looking at me as if I had all the answers. The problem was, I used to. I used to have those answers. At least it felt like it. But then again, so had Meghan. And now here we were, staring at each other as our teenage daughter grumbled something to herself, looking completely lost and angry at the world, and I didn’t know how to fix it. “Sasha? Is there something that you want to tell us?” Meghan asked as she reached out and gripped my hand. I looked down at her slender wrist and wanted to pull it to my lips for a kiss. Only it wasn’t the right time, and I was afraid if we didn’t take a break from the necessities that were our life, we might not ever find that time again. “Nothing’s wrong.” The clipped sound of my daughter’s voice split the air, and I let out a breath. “Sasha. There’s got to be something wrong if you’re not talking to us.” “Why do I have to tell you everything? I’m eighteen. I’m not a little girl anymore. I’m having a bad day. Maybe it’s just my period.” “You talking about menstruation isn’t going to push me away from this conversation. It’s a new age. I’m not going to wince.” “Ugh! Why can’t you be like any normal guy and just walk away as soon as I talk about anything girl problem related?” “Because I have two daughters, a wife, and fifty thousand Montgomery cousins. Not to mention your aunts. You’re not going to push me away by saying those things. Talk to me.” My daughter, who didn’t look a thing like me since we didn’t share a single biological gene, blinked up at me before she burst into tears. I cursed under my breath as my wife and I moved forward. We hugged Sasha close, helpless. “Baby, talk to us. What’s wrong?” “I’m fine,” Sasha bit out as she leaned into us. “You just burst out crying, and you’re angry for seemingly no reason. There’s got to be a reason.” “Fine. Marcus dumped me.” I blinked and looked back at her. “I thought you and Marcus were just friends?” She rolled her eyes, let out a huff. “Dad.” “Don’t Dad me. When did you become more than friends? How could he have broken up with you when you weren’t dating?” “Luc, darling, one thing at a time.” “I think this is the same thing.” “Oh, so you’re fine with talking about menstruation, but suddenly I talk about boyfriends, and you freak out like a dad from the ‘50s?” I pinched the bridge of my nose and waved Cliff off. Cliff was sixteen and nearly as tall as I was, and his eyes were wide. He put his hands on both Emma’s and Benjamin’s shoulders. As Benjamin was eight, and Emma was ten, they had an inkling of what we were talking about, so therefore my eldest son seemed to read my mind. He pulled the kids away, and out to the backyard where hopefully he would watch them for a minute while I figured out what the hell was going on with my oldest daughter. Meghan and I had been married for over a decade now. We had been through hell and back multiple times, and I still felt like I was sometimes scrambling when it came to my kids.

BLURB:
The Montgomery Ink saga from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with a second chance romance sure to tug at your heartstrings.
As the temptation to give in intensifies between them, so do the reasons they shouldn’t stay together.
Painful ghosts from both of their pasts stand in their way and sometimes it’s the living that can haunt you when you’re not looking.
Beckett’s heart is in the right place but his mind seems to be conflicted. Eliza doesn’t want everyone feeling sorry for her. Both are dealing with pain they can’t see ending any time soon. At least they have family and friends that have good listening ears.
The author seems to give a voice to thoughts that any of us could have. I liked how our author took the time to develop her characters as individuals before attempting to put them together as a couple – that was just part of why I liked this story so much. These were characters that spoke to my heart. If this had been an insta-love story, I don’t know that I would feel the same.
Knowing what our main characters lives were like, in their minds and in their hearts, you will realize that things can be tough at times. Depending on what you have had to deal with in your own lifetime, you may be able to understand that in order to be realistic there’s no way that love at first sight was going to happen. It always amazes me how good a storyteller an author is. Our book doesn’t come with a television/movie screen so we need to rely on her words to paint the pictures that will need to play out in our minds.
Sometimes those pictures can be painful, sometimes they can be sad, and other times they can have you smiling at how everything seems to have worked out. Sometimes you find out that your heart is bigger than you think. Some books can be considered a beach read but even though this has a portion where a vacation occurs, I would say that this is a story that can be read at any time. If this is your first introduction to the Montgomery’s, I hope this will give you an incentive to check out some of the other family members.
