My Thoughts:
Tressa Stone knows how important a public persona is. Killian Brenton knows he looks good and he has an ego that needs some air let out of it. Our author is good at making you wonder about these two people. They can't be more polar opposite than the Arctic Circle and the Antarctic Circle. And that’s when the fun begins.
If you’ve not read the rest of the Heart of Stone Series that is a shame but not a total loss. Once you start this book you’ll start to wonder what you’ve missed and then find you want to check out the other eight books in the series. At the very least, check out Tressa’s parent’s story in Crash Into Me. Maybe you’ve never read this author’s work before, what a great way to be introduced.
I don’t know who she used as a reference point when creating Killian but I’d like to meet him. I just want to give him a little poke with a pin to see how much he would deflate – get rid of some of that hot air. At times I felt he overshadowed Tressa because of his big personality. But the heat between these two more than made up for that. I also loved how sneaky our author made him – so that gave him a few brownie points to make up for the oversized ego. But it was more than worth it for the chuckles he will supply and the ending that will leave you with a smile on your face.
