I’d never before subscribed to the aphoristic notion correlating a man’s ability to dance with his ability to perform in bed.
That was until I danced with Gabriel de Graaf.
Still stewing from my ego-crushing exchange with Nathan, I accepted a shot of Glenlivet, downed a glass of Dom Perignon, and even took a mild puff off of a low-dose sativa pen, before following Gabriel onto the dance floor, twisting and shaking my body as if I were in a nightclub.
And that direct contact with his body, surrounded by smoky darkness and too-loud music, was more arousing than any foreplay I’d ever experienced.
It was as if I’d only taken small hits of Gabriel throughout the night, and now I was really experiencing the soaring high that he was. He was a potent force, lust personified in the otherworldly form of a man way too beautiful for the mortal realm. I drunkenly imagined him as the ancient vinous deity as he towered over me on the dance floor, his electric gaze captivating me even through the throng of tipsy bodies and pulsing beats. My Thoughts:

Nicole Adams is riding a high at the moment. Her story starts off with everything seeming normal and then she shows how quickly life can change. Her son seems the typical teenager. He gives her a surprise that she never saw coming. Her feelings seem so realistic and how any mother would feel.

The author certainly caught my attention with how realistic everything seemed to be. Nicole could be one of my neighbors. You may say hi to someone but not really know what happens once they go inside their home. Not knowing a single parent, I can’t say I know about the struggles they must have but our author gives us a fictional peek into what that life may be like. There comes a scene toward the end where Nicole voices a feeling that I’m sure a lot of women have voiced at one time or another.

Our author also puts in twists and turns that seem so realistic and show that anything could be possible in the life of a mother and her son. The only thing about the ending was that after everything that happened to get to that point, the happiness seemed to be rushed. I can’t really call it a romance but a peek into the life of a woman who is at a point in her life where she wants certain things. The secondary characters help to make this story – just like in a movie. On the whole it was an enjoyable read.

 Hi! I grew up in the desert around Phoenix, Arizona, where I had a bay quarter horse named Dolly. If I wasn't riding, I was holed up somewhere reading Laura Ingalls Wilder or the Oz books or, later on, Jane Eyre and The Grapes of Wrath. Horses eventually faded as an interest, but I ended up with a lifelong love of books and reading.

After college and eight years of living in cold places like Chicago and New York, I escaped back to the land of sunshine. I now live in California, one mile from the Pacific Ocean, with my dachshund Taco. I have worked in banking and as a pro bono attorney, doing adoptions and guardianships for abandoned children.

As a writer, I'd always been interested in children's books, since they had meant so much to me as a kid. I've found I especially like writing books about teens and twenty-somethings, an age where you make so many decisions about who you are and how you want to spend your life.

My Thoughts:

Kyle Coleman shows that you can change your future.  Ella Fisher’s future looks like it won’t have a chance to change.  Claire is a good friend to Ella and worth watching out for.  She was one that could have been a scene-stealer but these authors were good about keeping a tight reign on her.  But she still got me laughing at times.

This story is more than just second chances.  It’s about repairing something that you didn’t think you’d ever have the chance to.  We also have adult children taking care of their parents, which seems to happen more and more. Plus it’s something that I can relate to.  I also liked the shout out to buying local.  It helps to add to the small town feel.  And I love buying local as much as possible.

Our authors do a great job in showing how crazy life can be as we try to rebuild a relationship that was years in the making.  But the road back to each other is never an easy one and our authors do a great job in showing how frustrating that can be.  These two always seem to know just what I need to keep reading.  I always know that when I see this writing team’s names on a book that I’m going to enjoy the ride they take me on.  They have some words of wisdom that are built into a scene and you just may recognize it once you get there – and it’s just the kick in the pants that Ella needs.  I was happy to see an HEA here but even happier is the fact that a friend of Kyle’s gets a story.
