Just like the previous book in this series, once it started nothing was going to stop me from listening to however many books follow. And at some point, I’ll have to add the print version to my ever-growing library.
This was a tough book to listen to though. Amo and Greta had a lot to go through to get to the beginnings of finding their happy ending. Ms. George gave me a good idea what Greta may look and sound like. Mr. Locklear does a great job with the male voices; he changes his voice enough to make each male different from the main character. He’s not too bad with a female voice either. Yes, it’s a man, who has a distinct voice, but you know that he’s giving us a female character. The author could have stopped with just two narrators, and I would have been happy, but she adds two of my favorite male narrators into the mix.
Our story goes more into the violent world of the mob so pay attention to any warnings. There were times where I wanted to stop listening to the story because it wasn’t hard to picture what Greta and Amo, and their families, were going through. We also see their differences. Greta is the soft side of the family and Amo is the violent side. Having someone with a big heart in his life grounds him. He’s a man who only gives the keys to his heart once. And the same goes for Greta. The author left me with a great present, this series isn’t done yet.
