My Thoughts:

The Author’s Note gives the reader an idea of how the main characters came to be.  

 

Callahan is asked to do something that becomes very important to him. Having watched a lot of true crime dramas I never think about those that go out of their way to help people. This man may just have changed that. Yes, I know he’s fictitious but the stories I watch aren’t. Our author’s creation of the ranch had me hoping that there’s one in the country somewhere. If not, anyone who has the land may want to talk with her about getting one going. 

 

Sully might not think so, but she is very brave. Like Callahan, she may be fictitious, but her situation is one that I can believe is real. There are a few occasions where I see someone who survives their situation. A lot of the crime dramas are repeats so time has gone by since the show originally aired but I’ve never wondered how the injured part may be now. Sully shows what could be. 

 

This author always seems to write books that can stand on their own. In this series there’s only one previous book and if you haven’t read Devlin’s story, I hope that Callahan has given you the incentive to go back and find out what his story is about. If you loved Sully, then you may want to read her sister’s story titled Then Came Love. Ms. Foster creates characters that will make you laugh, make you wish they were your friend, and in this case even make you cry. But in the end, you fall in love.

My Thoughts:

Jillian is a woman who believes in what she does. Johnny just may see his world collapse around him. The author has created a third main character. I don’t know if our author planned it that way, but Zoey is a character that helps to move the story along. And these three are all connected in how this story flows. 

 

There are moments of frustration and using the power of her words, the author does a great job of painting that picture in my mind. You can almost hear her characters making the sounds we all make when in a similar situation. The good thing is that if you can’t hear it, there’s an audiobook version that may help. I became so fixed on what was going on between the main characters that I ended up finishing the book in just two days. 

 

If you haven’t expanded your reading list yet, Ms. Foster will make you aware of the series she currently has available. It’s a great way of expanding your library for your reading and listening pleasure. And she leaves you looking forward to what will be coming out next.
