Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are excited to bring you the Cocky Hero Club: original works from various authors inspired by Keeland and Ward's New York Times bestselling Cocky Bastard series.

BLURB:

Savage

Noah Keegan lives life just as he pleases: as a scuba-dive enthusiast with a love of the finest things in life and beautiful women, as well as an art to closing deals. He’s CEO of Keegan Enterprises and has it all—looks, an Upper East Side entitlement, and savage charisma. He suffers one quirk: he’s a bit of a chauvinist. With the 20th anniversary of his mother’s death approaching, Noah wants to create a perfume in her honor. He brings in a temporary manager from another firm that has experience in the fragrance industry. Ryan Hagan sounds perfect. However, he’d wrongly assumed based on the name that Ryan was a guy. Ryan was a she who sets Noah’s blood to boiling in more ways than one.

Suit

The moment Ryan meets Noah, she realizes that every sordid, narrow-minded allegation against the infuriatingly misguided chauvinist is true! She has a lot riding on the success of this project, so there’s no way in hell she’s allowing Noah Keegan and his antiquated ideas to deter her dreams. They're stuck with each other if they want to achieve their individual goals. If only he wasn’t too sexy for his own damn good and her peace of mind, her plans would be so easy.

AUTHOR BIO:

Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer.

Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon.

Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.

In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters.

She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA.

She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself.

In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Johnnie 'John-boy' Donovan is the new VP of the Death Dwellers MC. While the club president, his cousin Christopher 'Outlaw' Caldwell, is on his honeymoon, Johnnie is left in charge. With Outlaw's return just a week away, he just wants things to run smoothly and without a hitch. But trouble is brewing for the Death Dwellers and an evil from his past may be back to haunt him.

Kendall Miller is an attorney and the ex-girlfriend to Spoon, the club President of The Torpedoes MC. She's in over way over her head and when her little sister is taken, Kendall needs to do whatever it takes to get the information on the Death Dwellers before it’s too late.

Can Johnnie trust the mysterious red haired woman who showed up naked to his cousin’s bachelor party? Can Kendall rely on the handsome blond biker that made a lasting impression on her mind, body, and heart to help her get her sister back?

Lives will be lost and hearts will be broken in the third book of The Death Dwellers MC series.

Kathryn Kelly is living her dream and writing books. She's always been an avid reader and still devours books in her spare time. She also enjoys football, socializing, music, eating, and jokes. In her head, she's the ultimate biker babe. In reality, she's an ordinary girl-next-door and a native New Orleanian. Since the release of Misled in December 2013, she’s been living her dream of writing books. In August 2015, her life took a dramatic turn with the diagnosis of Stage 2B HER2 Positive Breast Cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy, lymph node removal, and breast reconstruction in February 2016. The support of her family, friends, and fans helped her to stay strong and keep her head up. #F*ckCancer became her rallying cry. Now located in the Houston area, she is once again cancer free. Her hair is growing back and her nails are returning to normal. Currently, she is plotting her next book.

This was the hardest book to listen to so far in this Death Dwellers series. One reason is the voice actor. Mr. Valor does a great job in bringing the harsh reality of Kendall's world to life. There is no way that you won't feel something for this latest book. It's a story that is the most violent and our narrator makes you sit up and pay attention. You can almost feel her pain.

One good thing is that since this is Johnnie's story, the swearing isn't as bad as the previous book. But with all the violence, sometimes I actually would have preferred it. With that you wouldn't think that I liked the story but I did. We get some backstory here - get an understanding of the life that Johnnie and Christopher grew up in. This is one of those stories that it's hard to turn away from because this story has a realistic tone to it.

Everything that Kendall went through is something that could be happening to any woman in the world right now. Johnnie seems so put together but this story gives us more look into what he's really like. Their story is one that I have to turn off now and then because some of the violence is hard to take. But that doesn't stop me from going back time and again. I want to know that Kendall is going to be able to find some kind of happiness.

Ms. Kelly is most imaginative with this book. You have to wonder her thought process. Did she research? How did she get through all those scenes where there was violence against women? Or when she wrote the graphic scenes that show exactly what the men of the Death Dwellers, and enemies, are really like. Her words have left me wanting more. Mr. Valor has left me wanting more.

This is one book that shows why I listen to audiobooks. If I read the book I don't think I would have the same reaction. With someone reading to you, bringing the characters to life, you can almost see the scenes come to life - like a movie playing out in your head. You have your headphones in so that all you can do is concentrate on the story. Everything else is cut off since all you can hear is what the narrator is telling you.

I start my day with a couple of disappointments. As I research to see if my audio tour of this MC is going to continue I find it's not - at least right now. Another disappointment comes in the fact that I find that Johnnie and Kendall's story isn't finished. My last disappointment was that I couldn't tell if "Misdeeds" will also come out in audio so that I can continue my Death Dwellers adventure. But the good news is that if it doesn't it's not the end of the world - will just have to add the book to my regular library. Then maybe I can find out what happens to our couple.

This was a great follow up to the first book in the Death Dwellers' series. I was glad to see that voice actor Samuel Valor continues to narrate. I got used to him as Christopher because the tone he uses helps me to picture what the head of the Death Dwellers may look like. Mr. Valor's performance brings the author's words to life. At times I still want to laugh when he does a female voice but had to think of this as being told from Christopher's point of view and then the giggles would disappear.

Ms. Kelly has written a book that I prefer to have in audio form. It just adds to the experience of what the Death Dwellers are all about. There's no way that you can't tell what type of MC these men are and what they do for their women. It's a story without sound effects which in this case was fine by me. When warranted, I had no trouble coming up with those all by myself. One thing that you can't get away from is all the "F" words that get used here - just one indication as to the type of men make up the Death Dwellers. An audio version of this book brings more of a reality to the written word.

If you don't mind men that are very graphic as to what they do, what they like, who swear all the time, and bring new meaning to "taking care of business" than you may want to check this book out. My only recommendation is that you read, or listen to, Misled first. If you don't it would be like skipping the beginning and starting at the middle of a book. This means to get the most out of the Death Dwellers' MC you must start at the beginning.

The first story was sad and this was more violent. With this one you see how much Christopher cares for Megan. But you will also see how much the MC filters into their life. I did start to cringe with all the "F" words that got thrown around. The thing is that everyone does it. It's hard to walk around anywhere without hearing someone constantly using it. And if you can get past that than this will be an enjoyable tale. Just like the first book, I feel that our author and our narrator make a great combination. I can't wait to listen to Misunderstood - I'm addicted to this series, Ms. Kelly, and Mr. Valor.

If you could sum up Misled in three words, what would they be?

Realistic, Sad, Apprehensive

What did you like best about this story?

Even though this story seemed so sad most of the time, I felt it was the most realistic portrayal of what I think a true MC would be.

Have you listened to any of Samuel Valor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not but I'm looking forward to changing that. I've already marked the second book in this series on my wish list. He was very easy to listen to. He changed the tone of his voice when he had to do a female character. But was glad he didn't try to do a high pitch - it would have changed my enjoyment. It was a very serious story and I wouldn't do the story justice if I laughed every time Mr. Valor did a female voice. After listening to this book, I'm a fan.

Any additional comments?

This was more of a sad story than one that was romantic. This was more suspenseful than happy. And because of that, I enjoyed the listening experience. I don't know that if I read the book instead if I would have had the same understanding of what the Death Dwellers are all about. To truly know and experience this group of men, I feel that having someone read it to me just adds to what I need in order to understand the characters better. Because of this experience, I would enjoy adding more works by this author into my library as well as this narrator. They are a good combination.
