The music changes, becoming a slower, more erotic beat that reminds every man in the room of sex.

I’m trying to keep an eye on Savage, when I see the expressions of my brothers who are facing the stage. I follow their gaze. The girl has her back to us and she’s slowly pulling down the zipper at her spine. Every eye in the room follows its trail as it leaves behind a widening swath of soft bare skin.

If this is a distraction for something, it’s a good one, because we’re all hypnotized.

She slips the flounce down her arms and drops the top. The skirt of the dress stays up, still tight at her waist, but her naked back is exposed to us. She lifts her arms, twining her hands above her head. The position exposes the sides of her breasts to us and every man here is holding his breath waiting for her to turn. She peers over her shoulder coquettishly and I know she’s got some skills at this. Then she bends at the waist and flips her skirt up giving us just a flash before whirling, her arms crossed over her chest. She taunts and teases, then spins again, and when she turns back to face us, she’s got the front of the dress pulled up, exposing her barely there thong, but covering her breasts.

My Thoughts:

This just may be a series that I want exclusively in audiobook form. We have two voice actors that suck me into what is going on and I didn’t want to let go.  It was frustrating when I had to stop because there was never any perfect spot.  As I got toward the ending, I got nervous that there won’t won’t be any more audio versions.  It will be tough but I will switch over to the book version if I have to. 

 

Mr. West and Ms. Rose do a great job in expressing the emotion, which includes fear and frustration, as well as the heat our characters are experiencing.  They also made it very easy to imagine what the characters might look like.  One thing I liked about this pair is that they were very easy to listen to.  With a book, it’s not hard to close and walk away to be picked up at a future point in time.  With an audiobook, you can take them everywhere you go. 

 

Another thing that’s good about voice actors is you focus on who they are portraying – like a movie you can’t see.  You won’t want to tune them out because you’ll want to know what Reno and Kara are talking about and what trouble they’re trying to get out of.  They help me get to know who these characters are.  They also help me understand what’s going on with the world around them. 

 

I finished the book with at least three sure things.  The first would be that I plan to check out more works narrated by Mr. West and Ms. Rose.  They compliment each other so I hope to find more duets but I’ll happily check out anything they’ve worked on.  The second thing is following this series because I have to see who else in this MC that I’m going to learn about.  Plus I’d like to see if Reno and Kara make an appearance as the series develops.  The third thing is our author.  I’ve only read/listened to a few of her books but I look forward to adding more to my library.

My Thoughts:

Lola likes to push buttons.  She has a brother that’s trouble.  The author did such a good job with that character that I had to wonder if it was pure imagination, personal knowledge, or research.  Memphis is a man that likes being a loner.  You won’t know why until he opens his heart.  Our author takes us on an adventure and it was interesting to see where it led.  

Loved the action that was added into the storyline.  Being a story about an MC it really shouldn’t surprise me but I was left with a wish.  I had come to wish that this story came with a video of the story – love me some action.  

Our author is very good at creating a scene that lets off plenty of heat.  It’s not one that was placed there because she had to.  It fit in perfectly because it was based on what came before and after.  Once the heat started there wasn’t anything that could put it out.  Something else she was good at was giving a voice to Lola’s family members.  She gave them just enough so you knew who they were and how important they were to the story.  It was just enough without them overtaking anything and getting the reader sidetracked from the important stuff.  

The ending came on rather quickly but that’s just because I didn’t want this adventure to end.  The only thing I will tell you is that it will put a smile on your face and possibly bring a tear or two, or three, to your face – having a tissue nearby may come in handy.  I can’t wait to see what this author may have up her sleeve for her next book.
