My Thoughts:
The authors have posted a warning at the beginning of this book. You always want to read a warning because there wouldn’t be one unless the authors want to point something out.
Cindy has me thinking of a song from the musical Annie. You may think of some current song when you meet. I found myself commiserating with her on how she feels about her current situation. Her story is based on a folk tale in cartoon, musical, and live action. Only you can decide if this story would fit in that list.
Nico is certainly not your normal folk tale prince. He’s certainly a modern take on the person who is next in line to be the one in charge. I liked the modern take the author made from a story that I watched as child. But this tale is certainly not for a child to read. And I don’t want to say too much about our main characters because it would be so easy to give something away.
You’ll recognize a lot of the characters from the original tale, but I don’t think Nico would like it if we thought of him as a prince. He has a darker side that I don’t think would be in that other fictional character’s DNA. One thing I love when two authors get together and write a story is that I can’t tell who wrote what. And that is especially true with the ending. It left me looking forward to seeing what other tales they may have written together.
