My Thoughts:

Andrew "Ace" Ross is given a duty to perform.  Shannon Barrow is like a flower waiting to open.  The author gets to the suspense almost from the start - now I'm glued to my seat.

Shannon is an interesting character in that she has a good head on her shoulders and takes a proactive approach to what's currently going on in her life at the time.  But when it comes to how she sees herself there seems to be some self-doubt.  Ace had me curious about some of his friends that play a small part in this story - I guess i have some research in my near future.  What impressed me about him is that he couldn't be swayed from what he feels is right.  

Our author does a great job at building anticipation.  You may feel as if you want to jump ahead so you can get to the "good stuff" but then you might miss some of the suspense the author's been building on.  Just remember what they say about patience.  That's what makes this a good book that you'll either want to read again or in one sitting.  It may even be a great introduction to the author and leave you wanting to check out more of her work.

After a tongue-lashing about how irresponsible I was to, 

first, leave the ER with such an injury, and second, be late, 

I put him in his place … or so I thought.
