My Thoughts:
Malcolm Webber gets a surprise when he meets a new client. He’s having a hard time getting over a
personal tragedy. Hans Erickson needs
some of Malcolm’s expertise. He may be
just what is needed to get Malcolm out of his funk.
Our author reminds his readers that even if you lose a loved one that
life must go on. It may be tough in the
beginning but family and friends may help fill the void for a little while
until you’re ready for a new relationship.
One thing that impressed me was how realistic Malcolm’s life
appears. You can almost feel and
understand everything that he’s going through.
And you can see how hard it is for him to start all over again.
Even though there’s a lot of sadness in this story, this was my most favorite
out of all the books that I’ve read of Mr. Grey’s so far. You can’t help but get your emotions involved
as you learn more about Malcolm. Hans
also has a personal tragedy that he’s dealing with so these two men have
something in common and can use that to heal each other. There are things that Malcolm does to Hans
that are not very nice but that just shows more of Malcolm’s personality and
how much losing a partner has affected him.
Another thing that impressed me was that our author has created a
character that is past a certain age. I
think as our society evolves, we don’t think that someone is over the hill –
people can find love, and yes even more than once, at any age. My only issue was that Hans was a little too
patient and maybe needed to poke Malcolm a little or make him realize certain
things. There were things that Malcolm
would do that would indicate he still had some insecurities that he needed to
deal with. All of this showing how
realistic this budding relationship was.
And the ending shows how ready he is to commit to that relationship.
