viral sensation

It all began when Daws went to Tires Tires Tires to get a new set of wheels on her car. She was suffering from writer’s block, but apparently the complimentary coffee and cookies cured her. So she decided to bring in cars of friends and family so she could keep writing in the magical waiting room.

Her social media musings had her fans in stitches and it wasn't long before inspiration struck again. This time...Daws was to write a sexy romantic comedy about a romance novelist who sneaks into a tire shop and gets caught by a hot mechanic. You can imagine where the love story goes from here.

Eventually, the little tire shop opened their arms to Daws, even putting her release date on their marquee sign outside.

It wasn't long before Buzzfeed got wind of it. Then Scary Mommy. Then InspireMore and several other blogs with followers well into the millions. WGN News in Chicago, Fox 10 in Phoenix and Canada Public Radio are all talking about the adorable feel good story of how inspiration can strike in the strangest of places.

Check out these fun features:

excerpt

She slaps her hand on her knee and bellows gallantly, “But you know what, Miles, you’re right! I should totally find a random hookup tonight.”
“Whoa, I never said anything about random.”
“Well, you’re doing it, so why can’t I?”
I narrow my eyes. “You don’t seem like the random type.”
“Maybe I should be.” Her eyes narrow when she leans in and whispers against my lips. “Can I tell you a secret, Miles?”
“You can tell me anything, Mercedes.”
She giggles and crooks her finger for me to lean in even closer. I’m so close I can smell the faint scent of her cherry lip gloss, and it’s not helping the half boner having a party in my pants.
Her lips graze my ear when she whispers, “My writing makes me horny.”
I nearly choke on my beer. “I’m sorry, what?”
“My writing makes me horny.” She pulls back and nods her confirmation. “I’m serious. I have a sex toy that works really well and really fast, but I miss the heat of a man, ya know?”
My eyes scrunch together, and I rub my fingers in the sockets to make sure I’m awake and hearing this all correctly. “I mean…I don’t really ever miss the heat of man, so I don’t think I know exactly what you’re saying.”
“Fine, the heat of a woman.” She rolls her eyes dramatically “You know what I’m talking about. The heat.”
I frown and shake my head. “You’re going to have to elaborate because I think of a lot of things when I think of women, but their body temperature isn’t one of them.”
“You asked for it.” She laughs and leans in so she’s speaking low and soft and directly into my ear. “The heat of a woman is so much more than temperature. It’s the soft, sensual curves of the female form. The way your fingers dig into the meat of her thighs when she’s wrapped around you. Her smooth, sunken tummy when she’s on her back, the delicate bumps of her ribcage when she’s throwing her head back in pleasure. Tight little nipples in pillows of creamy softness. The fact that you could fold yourself around her and envelop her body almost entirely and still want more. You’re saying you don’t miss that kind of heat?”
I blink slowly, recovering from what just happened. Her voice was a sensual, verbal caress straight on my cock. Then there was the warm heat of her breath on my ear. The deep husk of her tone. The way her warm palm rests softly on my thigh.
Fucking hell.

#PromoTour: The Choice by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, & Isabella LaPearl, #NowAvailable, #OutNow, #Live

Heavenly Young doesn’t have time for romance. The innocent nursing student is struggling to care for her ailing father, keep a roof over their head, and start a new career. But fate decides to complicate her world even more by putting two very different men in her path and forcing her to make a choice that will change her life forever.

Dr. Ken Beckman—vascular surgeon by day, super-alpha by night—has three hard-and-fast rules: Never date where he works, never touch vanillas, and never get tangled up with a virgin. But the moment he meets Heavenly, he aches to toss his scruples aside and claim the untouched beauty. She’s not ready for someone like him…but he wants her too much to walk away—even though he’s not the only man caught in her spell.

Seth Cooper, ex-cop turned private eye, isn’t looking for a happily ever after, just a hot-and-sweaty good time. And the minute he claps eyes on Heavenly, he’s all for coaxing the angel into his bed. But soon, she’s so deep under his skin that he’s willing to put his broken past behind him and turn his life upside down for her. But he’s got competition…

When it came to helping friends, Beck and Seth were in sync. But now they’re vying for the same girl, and the games get vicious—until they realize Heavenly is keeping secrets from them both. Will they call a truce and work together again before they both lose her for good?

Raine's big brother shoved a glass of thick red vino in her hand. "So, did you find someone to fuck your brains out?"
She recoiled. If she gave him an equally blunt answer, would he stop this mortifying inquisition?
"Yes. It was easy." Heavenly punctuated her lie with a bright smile.
River glowered. "Tell me Beck or Seth finally manned up."
"He's someone you don't know."
One of River's dark brows shot up. "Where did you meet him?"
"Um…around."
"What does that mean? A park? A bar? A grocery store? A swingers' club?"
"Why does it matter? I found someone and it was lovely."
He looked skeptical. "Lovely? That's how you describe meeting a stranger, losing your clothes, and banging him?"
Heavenly bristled. "How would you describe a hookup?"
"Hot, sweaty, messy. Mind-blowing. Spine-melting. Earth-shattering." River snorted. "Never lovely."
"Sweaty?" She shuddered. "That sounds unpleasant. It was nice. I…tingled."
"Tingled?" He scowled. "Did your pussy fall asleep because he couldn't find your clit? Maybe you should have given him a map."
She nearly choked on her wine. "I found the experience perfectly satisfying."
"Sweetheart, you don't know squat about satisfaction." Raine's brother leaned in and peered at her, eye to eye. "Here's what I think happened: You haven't so much as flirted with another man. You don't understand why 'lovely' sex is bad because you've never had it. In fact, not only did you not have sex with this mysterious 'stud,' you haven't offered the virginity you asked me to take to anyone else."
"What. The fuck. Did you say?" Beck growled suddenly.
Heavenly glanced over her shoulder. Both Beck and Seth glared from across the kitchen. Oh, no.
"Get out," Seth snapped at River, hauling ass across the room. "Now. While you can still walk."
Dread burned her veins. She didn't have to wonder how much they'd overheard. Obviously, it had been more than enough. Tonight had just gone from mortifying to catastrophic.
River backed away, hands raised. "Hey, just so you know, I turned her down because I like my balls where they are."
"That's the only reason you're getting to keep them," Beck insisted. "Seth told you to get the fuck out."
"I'm leaving," River assured, then glanced her way. "Good luck."
Once he'd gone, silence descended. She was alone with the two men who had been tempting, confusing, and consuming her for months. They were going to demand answers.
This wouldn't end well.
Heavenly drew in a shaky breath, startled to find both now inches away, arms crossed over their chests. Aggression rolled off them, filling the tense air. Beck drilled holes through her with narrowed eyes, set off by a scathing slash of his mouth. Seth's seething stare was no less displeased. Unfortunately, she had nothing to offer the savage beasts except a smile full of trembling bravado.
Because the truth would change everything.

Narrator: Noah Michael Levine
Length: 2 hours 57 minutes
Publisher: Candace Blevins
Released: Feb. 21, 2018
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Rating:  4 Stars

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Candace Blevins. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Bethany has joked for years that if she ever settles down, it'll be with a harem of men, only it isn't a joke anymore.

Mac is a new werewolf, and still must be watched at every moment to be sure he stays in control. His kink has always been ménage, so when he overhears the beautiful redhead at the bar wanting to take on not only him, but also the werewolf and wereleopard chaperoning his night out... he has to convince them to let him take her home. He might not be trustworthy with a human woman alone, yet, but with two powerful shapeshifters in bed with them, what could go wrong?

Previously published in the Every Which Way Anthology.

Candace Blevins has published more than thirty books. She lives with her husband of twenty years and their two daughters. When not working or driving young teens all over the place, she can be found reading, writing, meditating, or swimming. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhound is usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company.

Candace writes Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Contemporary BDSM Romance, and a kick-ass Motorcycle Club series.

Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.

Candace's two paranormal romance series, The Chattanooga Supernaturals and The Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club, are both sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.

Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

What made the experience of listening to Acceptable Risk the most enjoyable?

I think having a narrator with a voice that has you imagining some of the characters helps to get that movie playing in your head. The reason you listen to a book is because you're looking for more of an aural experience. Plus it's a way of getting your book fix while you're able to get other things done at the same time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

You woiuld think that having a male narrator that I would pick a male character. Sorry to disappoint you but it would have to be Bethany. She wants something but as she gets her wish she finds out some secrets that make her a little wary about her choice. You get the sense that what she feels is real. Bethany also knows how to stand up for herself and not afraid to speak her mind.

What about Noah Michael Levine’s performance did you like?

Mr. Levine brings the male characters to life. I had no trouble picturing what Ranger, Max, and Jonathan may look like. He also adds the heat to the story that I probably wouldn't feel by reading the book myself. You get more of an emotional experience having someone read to you. When you read for yourself a lot of times it's more monotone. Our narrator also had me feeling as if I was missing something. Had me wondering if there was a story that should have come before - how these three men came to be. So he's given me a reason to check out more of our author's other paranormal series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't have an extreme reaction but it certainly got me hot. Mr. Levine has me feeling as if I'm standing off to the side as each scene is played out. Left me wanting more and not wanting this book to end. So looking forward to listening to more of Ms. Blevins' work.

Any additional comments?

Ms. Blevins and Mr. Levine are a perfect couple - they are perfect for each other. This is a story that will push boundaries. Both for the characters as well as for the reader/listener. If you're shy at having a person say certain words than I would suggest reading the book. But if you're up for a more seductive experience than you need to listen. There is a lot of graphic language but that just adds to who these people are and what they want.

At times I closed my eyes as the scene played out. I wanted to concentrate on the scene and see how it played out in my mind - didn't want the outside world to take my mind away from what Mr. Levine was reading. But I will tell you that it's not a book to listen to you when you are at work. This is when having the book is the better idea. So this means that this is one of those times where having both the book and the audio version is a good thing. Once I find out what other possible books can be connected with this one, I can see myself listening to this book again.

Q&A with Author Candace Blevins
  • Was a possible audiobook recording something you were conscious of while writing?
    • Not at all. I wrote this for an anthology years ago, and published it as a novella when the rights returned to me. It’s a nice entry into both my Chattanooga Supernaturals series and my Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club series, so it seemed the perfect choice for my first foray into audio. When I eventually look for narrators for Only Human, my urban fantasy series, I’m going to want a male and female working in tandem, but for my first venture, I thought I should keep it as simple as possible.
  • How did you select your narrator?
    • I have the most awesome reader group ever (Candace’s Kinksters, feel free to look us up on Facebook and come play with us!), and I asked them to tell me their favorite narrators. I listened to the top ten men they listed (with three men and one woman in the menage, it seemed logical to hire a man), and I loved Noah Michael Levine’s voice.
  • How closely did you work with your narrator before and during the recording process? Did you give them any pronunciation tips or special insight into the characters?
    • Noah is a dream to work with. I told him where each character was from, a little about their personalities, and how I envisioned they sounded. It was important we didn’t get a caricature of a southern accent for Jonathan and Bethany, and I think he did a great job.
  • How do you manage to avoid burn-out? What do you do to maintain your enthusiasm for writing?
    • I have so many stories in my head, and I write in several different genres, so burnout isn’t a problem for me. My bikers let me play with antiheroes, my urban fantasy series lets me move away from romance, and my dark series lets me get down and dirty. And of course, I have some romance series where I can let people find their happily ever after. Also, if I tire of writing werewolves, I can switch to vampires, or lions, or even ravens or grizzly bears.
  • Is there a particular part of this story that you feel is more resonating in the audiobook performance than in the book format?
    • Noah Michael Levine’s voice is melt-in-your panties good, especially when he goes all Dom as Ranger. Yummm.
  • What do you say to those who view listening to audiobooks as “cheating” or as inferior to “real reading”?
    • I don’t see it that way at all. Some people learn by seeing, others by hearing. It only makes sense that the auditory crowd would prefer to listen rather than look. All the words are the same --- it’s the same book, no matter which format you choose.
  • In your opinion, what are the pros and cons of writing a stand-alone novel vs. writing a series?
    • I’ve only written one stand-alone, and it’s currently banned on Amazon. My publisher is fighting it, but in the meantime, you can find Absolute Power Exchange at Kobo, Apple, Smashwords, BN, and other vendors. The con, obviously, is that once I was done with the couple, I’ll never have an opportunity to visit them again. In a series, I love revisiting couples after their book’s complete, seeing them through the eyes of others, and watching them live out their happily ever after. On the pro side, it was so much easier to write a book without having to constantly stay on top of how the events I was writing would impact the timeline of the rest of the series, or to make sure I stayed true to the rules and personalities of characters from other books. I have four series in one universe, and while I love being able to swap characters around, it takes a lot to keep everything straight.
  • What’s next for you?
    • The eleventh book in my motorcycle club series just released, and I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with readers.I’ve been working on an epic Faerie story on and off for over five years, and last year I put it on Radish, so I was kind of forced to finish it since I had to write to keep up with the chapter releases. It’s currently going under massive revisions, and will be released as four books, titled Slave, Lady, Consort, and Queen. I don’t have release dates yet, but I’m hoping to be able to release each book a month apart.

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from Saints and Sinners and the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Presley

Growing up as MC royalty, my path was set, but it was never my destiny. Liberated by my father’s death, I left the Heaven’s Rejects Clubhouse to make my own way in life. But fate had other ideas. My brother's club was the only option, once a target had been painted on my back, because of one of my patients. I never expected that going home would result in my entire world being flipped upside down, at the hands of the man meant to protect me. With him as a bodyguard, my heart never stood a chance. Could I sacrifice my soul to go back to the life I left behind?

Voodoo

Falling in love with a prim and proper princess wasn’t anywhere on my agenda, but from the moment I saw her, it was game over. Hiding behind a screen name, I carried on an online relationship with her for months, under the guise of club business. But I wanted more than just an online fling. Now that she’s here, needing protection from the club, I have a choice to make. She wants nothing to do with the MC life, much less have a relationship with anyone associated with it. But I’m determined to show her how much she means to me. Am I really willing to give up my brothers and the club all for her?

The game is just now beginning, but in reality I might only have one life left.

***Adult Language Warning***

Presley Matthews shows how hard it is to leave a family behind.  Beauregard “Voodoo” Martin almost seems to be talking to the reader as his story unfolds.  He may a tough as leather kind of guy but he has a soft spot that only someone special sees.

If you haven’t read this series in a while this may be good incentive to pick it back up.  Or to refresh yourself you could go back and read the previous books.  Maybe you’ve not read this author before.  I would start at the beginning of the series if that were true.  It would be like starting a book in the middle.  You need to know the players and how they came to be in order to enjoy this latest.

The book is one that grabs your attention from the beginning.  Has you wondering how they get out of this mess.  And then you wonder how can two polar opposites find any common ground to even attempt a relationship.  Finding out what kind of men these are doesn’t stop the women from going into anything without their eyes wide open.  But make no mistake there might be a few bumps, a little action and adventure, and a lot of raw emotions – don’t expect that ride to end until we come upon the last word of the story.  Sometimes it may be hard to see but there is romance here.  Voodoo may have something to say about this but you could consider him a romantic and his ending proves that.
