☄Author Bio ☄

My name is Louisa May Hughes, I'm 35 years old and live in the Midlands, UK; with my gorgeous husband and three gorgeous children.
I have always wanted to be writer but started as a avid reader from an early age, I got my reading needs from my nan who was also a avid reader, we read things from Torey Hayden to Mills and Boon.
We both loved the escapism from the written words and loved to live in a fantasy world but losing my nan five years ago, I lost my way and needed to find a new release; so here I am. Living a dream I never knew could be possible, I was told many times at school that I wouldn't be anything but I am proving them wrong; one word at a time.
So, here I am on the cusp of my first release, I love Romance Novels and the whole thing of growing up with your best friend and falling in love, sets my heart beating.
When I'm not writing, I'm supporting my sons playing football, reading and taking pictures of wildlife.
My favourite music is R&B and love to watch Rom-coms and comedies.
My favourite saying is:
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
I think that applies to so much in life, in marriage and in friendships, nothing's perfect but you can always make perfect moments out of nothing.

M. Malone

NYT & USA Today bestselling author M. Malone lives in the Washington, DC metro area with her husband and their two sons. She holds a master's degree in Business from a prestigious college that would no doubt be scandalized by how she's using her expensive education.

Independently published, she has sold more than 1/2 million
ebooks in her two series, THE ALEXANDERS and BLUE-COLLAR BILLIONAIRES. Since starting her indie journey in 2011 with the runaway bestselling novella "Teasing Trent," her work has appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists more than a dozen times.

She's now a full-time writer and spends 99.8% of her time in
her pajamas.

Nana Malone

USA Today bestselling author Nana Malone's love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense novel she "borrowed" from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a
precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick-butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination constantly channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as brazen and kick-butt as she thinks she is.

Bishop: An Arizona Vengeance Novel
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: August 14, 2018
Rating:  4.5 Stars
Told in the first person.  Alternating persons.

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".

Synopsis:

Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates.

Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.

But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.

Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancΓ©.

Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real. . . .

My Thoughts:

Bishop Scott seems to be one lucky man.  He has a good friend named Dax.  Brooke Perron in one moment seems like a real fashionista and the next she seems a little vulnerable.  I liked the fact that she didn’t want to just ride on her father’s coattails but wanted a job that meant something.  There are a few secondary characters that I look forward to getting to know better.

It was interesting to watch a relationship develop in reverse.  I had no trouble picking up on our couple’s connection.  Some just seem to have an instant heat and that’s true with Bishop and Brooke.  Our author does a good job in developing her secondary characters as well.  They are necessary to the way the scenes flow.  You also see how well she goes about doing that because she was able to create a character that I hated – one word, leech.  But then as I got to see more of her my one word kept changing.

This is when you know the author’s done a great job with her book.  She’s able to create something that affects my feelings so much that I want to express them.  In this case, I can’t decide whether I want to give her a swift kick or a good punch to the…  But she also had me cringe every time I saw this character’s name.  She’s a loud one – she seems to command your attention.  I was happy when she disappeared from the scene because I could see her easily taking the story over and changing my feelings about the beginning of the Arizona Vengeance series.

Usually when you have the first book in a series the story can get a little long because the author uses it to build the world that will become the backdrop for the stories that follow.  This author doesn’t do that here.  No scene seems to drag and nothing seems out of place to what is going on with the characters.  This was a great book to the start of a brand new series and I’m very interested to see where the author plans to take me next.

About the Author:

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.

Vodka should come with a warning:

Mixing with Karaoke will make you do stupid shit, like sing that song you wrote when you were fourteen, about the boy who broke your heart.

At least he didn’t see it.

Oh wait. He did.

I should've just stayed home. The only reason I came was to stop Lily from doing something stupid, like crash her ex-boyfriend's wedding.

When I open my hotel room door to find Adam standing there, that sexy smirk tells me he’s hasn’t changed. He’s still the same arrogant asshole who made my childhood hell.

He insists on driving us home, and while he’s the last person I want to be around, he and I both know it’s a bad idea for Lily to be anywhere near that wedding.

I’m on the road trip from hell with my heartbroken cousin, and the one guy I can’t stand.

What was I thinking?

Excerpt:

It’s five in the morning and I’m still awake. I’m bordering on delirium, because I’m so tired, but I just can’t get to sleep.  I’ve tried listening to music, clearing my mind, counting backward … nothing is working.
There’s still one thing I haven’t tried
I hold my breath, listening to the sound of his breathing as I creep my hand under the blankets and down over my stomach. I freeze when he stirs, but he doesn’t wake up. My heart pounds as I focus on the sound of his breathing and nothing else.
My body tenses as a part my legs, just enough to slide a finger along my entrance. I hold my breath, the air catching my throat, then I quickly exhale as I slide a finger inside myself. I close my eyes and concentrate as I massage my clit, trying so hard not to make a sound.
What would it feel like to kiss him?
I sigh, imagining his lips brushing over mine, while I rake my hands over that thick, uneven stubble. I swallow, my pussy aching as I tease myself, imagining my fingers sliding over his muscular chest.
I work myself faster and harder as my body reacts. The soft lapping of my finger sounds a thousand times louder than it really is. I gasp as my finger slides deeper inside me. I want to scream, but I can’t, so I force the sound back down my throat and ride the last of my climax out in total silence, all while still imagining his hands on me. It’s torture and bliss at the same time.
Holy fuck.
I stare at the ceiling, unable to do anything other than lie there, listening to my heart pounding in my chest. I kick off the blankets, my skin all hot and sweaty. Then I smile and swallow a giggle. That was incredible. I’ve never experienced a rush quite like that before.
Snuggling into my pillow, I sigh. I’m so close to asleep …
And then I hear that familiar chuckle.
Fuck.
I hold my breath, not trusting myself to do anything other than lie there and panic. I slowly relax when he doesn’t react. He’s asleep. It’s fine. I imagined it. I breathe out and then close my eyes. Just as I finally feel like I’m going to fall asleep, his sleepy voice cuts through the silence. I lie there, holding my
breath, my eyes wide open.
“Feels good to be naughty, doesn’t it, Katie?”
His sleepy voice cuts through the silence. I don’t answer, because I can’t.
“Next time you do that? I’ll be participating.”
