My Thoughts:

What a way for the author to start her book – that means not skipping over the Dedication.  Something you need to pay attention to is the author’s warning. 

 

Zuko is very good at listening. Alaska is a woman with a lot on her plate. When we first meet this couple, they meet but not in person. It makes for an interesting beginning. Can you imagine getting to know someone just by the sound of their voice? But when you meet, will you know them right away? Or is it just a feeling? 

 

Our author has created characters that could function in our world but could be considered pure fantasy. For a little while, she helped me forget all the stress I was dealing with at the time. She made it easy for me to forget everything around me and see what Zuko and Alaska were doing. I loved Alaska’s stubbornness and Zuko’s ability to push her buttons. But underneath it all, you’ll have to question if you think they’ll be perfect for each other. I was left looking forward to seeing where this series is going to go.
