My Thoughts:
Nic seems to be having second thoughts. He is a man with no excuses and deems what is his and what he says goes. Celia gets a surprise she never saw coming. She has a mind but what she thinks seems to be of no consequence.
This story continues the dark tale in the first book. Some may find it offensive because of Celia’s treatment. That’s when you need to remind yourself that it’s just a work of fiction and pure imagination. Our authors shows that she has that in spades. They creates a man who for most of the duet, I don’t see as lovable or book boyfriend material.
Nic commands our attention so it becomes hard to look away. Just like Celia, he wants our surrender. I think if you look up the definition of the caveman in a modern dictionary, you may find a picture of what might look like Nic. He needs someone to knock his crown off his head. To rip the club out of his hand. And to maybe knock him down a peg or two. that right there just may be your incentive to keep turning the page.
And speaking of pages, the authors knows how to get them to burn. Their characters have an undeniable connection in more ways than one. Nic did seem like a quick learner when it came to how he decides to treat Celia. But it all makes sense and nothing seemed rushed. After how this series started, it was nice to see a romantic ending. But I have a feeling that I’m not quite sure that these authors are finished with this family. I guess that only time will tell.
