My Thoughts:
This is a story about Sienna and Elio and the families that connect them. Theirs is a story that begins in the book titled Quiet Wealth. Whether you read or listen to the book, this is a tale best read in order. One thing is for certain, our author is a great storyteller.
The narrators did a good job at bringing their world to life. Mr. Hobbs helps me distinguish between the good and bad guys. Ms. Watley does the same with the women. On the negative, there are times that I didn’t feel like Ms. Watley changed her voice enough that I would get lost in what female character I was listening to.
Our author created a tale that made my commute very pleasurable. But some of her scenes were a little too descriptive. Thankfully, I didn’t have anything in my stomach at the time. It shows how good she is at her job because my mind could picture everything as it played out. I would still listen to it again especially since I love the mafia and romantic suspense genres.
I had a sad moment when I got to the end of the book because I wanted to know more about Sienna’s friend. Since I already follow the author, I’ll just keep my eyes open to see if he’ll make an appearance. But she has other series that I feel the need to check out. As well as plenty of audiobooks to listen to.
