My Thoughts:

EJ is sharing a joy of his with his wife.  Bri is starting to fight for what she wants.  Their story continues where Power Couple left off.  Since this is the second book in a trilogy, don’t start here.  Otherwise, it would be like reading the middle of a book first.  You need to start from the beginning because you won’t know how they get where they are at the beginning of this book. 

 

In this book, we see our main characters grow both as an individual and as a couple.  The author shows the bumps in the road that everyone faces and then those that are unique for a couple in the limelight.    As with any new relationship, we see all the lovey dovey that goes on as well as the questions that arise of things they did before.  They are now trying to be adults and making decisions that come along with that.  Trust is one word that kept coming to mind as I was reading and you may feel the same. 

 

The author is very good at making her characters seem real.  They have real feelings, real insecurities, and the wants that we all have.  Family is another word that kept coming to mind.  Both of them as a couple and then all of their extended family.  Families can be both good and bad.  It was interesting to see how she portrayed both.   

 

Not sure of what is around the next corner is a good incentive to get comfortable for a reading marathon.  But one thing you will want to prepare for is a twist that only an author could write.  It certainly had me sit up and take notice.  She made me thankful for all the people I have in my life and glad that this story is pure fiction.  I was left conflicted.  I’m ready for what comes next but there’s quite a wait until the last book of the trilogy comes out.  Good thing is that there is plenty of time to read books one and two again that will allow me to get ready for book three.

My Thoughts:

EJ is probably a lot like some of us that have issues with our parents PDA.  Bri’s life may have changed but some things never do.  There are times, while reading, when I’m reminded why I wouldn’t want to be a celebrity – Bri's family is a perfect example. 

 

At the beginning, you will get a glimpse of these two getting to know one another.  You’ll see how different they are and some of that is age experience.  You’ll be able to tell that EJ was brought up right.  With Bri, her life reminds me of the child stars of old. 

 

I think the author was smart in having two totally opposite family dynamics.  If they were too similar, it would be more difficult to imagine how these two were going to live up to the title of the book.  She was also good in leaving some things up to the reader’s imagination.  It’s a good way of keeping the reader engaged.   

 

You may find that this is just a tease of what is yet to come.  It’s another way of keeping the reader engaged.  You’ll want to see what’s going to happen next.  There’s a lot of emotion between the covers and that is what will make it hard to put down.  But it’s also romantic.  And knowing their story isn’t over yet has me on tenterhooks until the author’s next book in the series comes out.
