If this is your first Melissa Foster book, please note that Finding My Girl is not a novel, a novella, or even a typical short story. It is a graphic companion booklet to the full-length contemporary romance novel, Love Like Ours, featuring Talia Dalton and Derek Grant. In Love Like Ours, one of the many ways Derek shows his love for Talia is through cute and loving sketches depicting their lives as they came together. Finding My Girl is a collection of those images, along with a couple of images that Jonah, Derek's father, had drawn for his wife, Eva. Within these pages you will also find heartfelt messages from Derek to Talia that are not found in the original novel. As a bonus, the first chapter of Love Like Ours is included in the back of the booklet.

My Thoughts:
Derek Grant really shows his love for Talia Dalton here. What better way than to have love letters with his illustrations. At first I thought that I could go back and reread the book and filter in some of the pictures and letters as I read but then changed my mind. I find that at the end is the perfect place and you will understand as well once you finish the last chapter of Love Like Ours. Now all I have to do is come up with some music to play once I get to this booklet again. What music would Derek sing to Talia? Theirs was the perfect love story. But then I start to feel sorry for our author because how is she going to do better than this – she’s set the bar awfully high.
