“Do you play?”
“Guitar? No, I don’t play anything besides piano.”

My brows shoot up. “Really?”
“Yeah, here…”
Before I realize what’s happening, I’m pulled into Sebastian’s lap, my back pressed against his chest as his arms wrap around mine, and that familiar spicy scent surrounds me along with the warmth of his body.
“You have to place your hands like this,” Sebastian whispers, his warm breath touching the shell of my ear as he places my left hand on the guitar’s neck, my fingers pressed over the strings. “And the other one goes further down, in the middle of the body. Yes, just like that.”
My eyes fall shut, goosebumps spreading over my skin as he maneuvers my body with such ease, like he’s playing his guitar. His hands feel warm on my skin, and every touch spreads tingles underneath my flesh.
It’s distracting, the way he makes my head spin with a simple brush of his fingers, but I can’t seem to pull away.

Penelope has decided that it’s time for a change. Sebastian wants to put things into perspective. You have to feel sorry for each of them but for different reasons. I always envy those that are creative and use it in their time of higher education – a great way to hone their craft.
I must applaud the author for creating a character with challenges that she has to deal with on a daily basis. Our author shows how frustrating it can be to navigate her world. And that world includes people who can be hateful which turns out to be hurtful.
Our male character has his own challenges. But our author, once again, creates someone who is dealing with real-life experiences. Being a celebrity comes with its own challenges. But our author puts in a twist that at times seemed to have me on the edge of my seat. She’s smart in that she gets me invested in Penelope and Sebastian before introducing the twist – even though I think she dropped me a few hints.
It was so easy to picture the scenes as they came and went. The author used just the right words to paint a picture that I could see come to life. It was especially true with the ending. Not sure how she knew I didn’t want their story to end there but she had it already for me. And that included her Acknowledgements.
