People lust after me. I can see it in their eyes, with the way their pupils grow large. It's also noticeable in the way they breathe in sharply when they see me, as though they're trying to suck in my essence—my soul, my beautiful face like cocaine to their libidos. It doesn't matter whether they're male or female; their reactions are all the same. And I hate it. My Thoughts:

Jagger D’Angelo doesn’t seem to be in a happy place.  Camila is trying to do what’s right but given the current conditions she’s hitting a brick wall.  This is a tale that’s going to really stretch your imagination.  It’s not for someone who only likes a tale that’s all hearts ‘n flowers.  This is dark and not something that can fit into what you normally might read – it would be like trying to fit something square in a round hole.  It’s not a story for people who believe that people should act a certain way in or out of the bedroom.  And with this story you will have no trouble knowing exactly what’s going on.

If you haven’t read season one, you’ll be wondering what you’ve missed and at some point go back and catch up.  The lines blur between horror and thriller, and you could also include mystery, but it’s definitely psychological.  There’s most definitely some suspense going on because there’s no way that you’ll ever be able to figure out where the author is leading us – and isn’t that how we get hooked.  Was left looking to see where this story was going to take me.

SOME FACTS ABOUT ME:

NATIONALITY: I am a New Zealander with Croatian heritage.

SPORTS: As a teenager my favourite sports were karate, badmington, and running. I also did unarmed combat and played in a touch rugby team (my gym teacher made me do the last one!) As an adult, I've couched soccer and have completed two marathons, numerous half-marathons and one 30K run. Though, I have been slack of late, so I'm dedicating 2018 to getting back into shape!

CAREER PATH: I started off as a Graphic Designer, then went to Auckland University, where I got a BA degree in Art History and Italian Studies and a post-graduate Honours degree in Art History. I worked in the Art History field, then became a full-time artist, doing commissions. I eventually lost all of my senses and gave it up to be a writer :)

FAVOURITE FOODS: I'm vegan, just not the type to tell you what to eat. That's your business, not mine. I love Japanese and Croatian cuisine, as well a golden queen peaches. Not all peaches are equal ;)

BAD HABITS: I'm a major procrastinator, I stay up way too late writing, and I get distracted far too easily unless it's doing something I love. My mind never stops running, can't turn the ADHD off.

STATUS: Married to my high school sweetheart (which he hates me calling him). We have two kids.

But, when a life-altering threat hits and emotions take over, Bellamy makes a decision that will change their lives forever.

My Thoughts:

This is a series that may fill your need to read mafia romance and/or paranormal romance.  There is some violence but nothing too graphic that you would feel ill while reading.  Something you will have to decide is how graphic you like your sex.  For me both the paranormal and mafia aspects are very subtle – it’s more about the mystery and suspense.  Each story is a novella, which is great for someone that is short on time.  And each story flows well from one to the next.  As you go along from story to story you realize that there is connection to them.

We have a great beginning with Trouble.  Annora “Nora” Evers is transfixed by the man who has come into the theater.  Michael “Mickey” McKennan is a man of mystery.  And there’s plenty of mystery to this story.  What outside forces have put these two in the same space?  What connects them?  Left me wondering how their story ends.  The author also piqued my interest with a secondary character named Penelope.

We then have a great ending with Vengeful.  Beau D’Avignon is in need of some serious help.  Bellamy D’Avignon is a woman who can hold her own.  This novella gives you two stories for the price of one.  Beau and Bellamy’s stories are different but they weave together very well.  But don’t expect an ending – I smell the beginning of another series, maybe.

I enjoyed having the option of reading one or maybe two stories before I had to go and do some work.  I didn’t feel lost when I picked this set up as I continued on.  It did however leave me wanting more.  Now you have to decide if you feel the same.

“What are you?” I whisper, fear shaking my body as well as my voice.

The man crouches down beside me, his gaze hungry, his movements cagey. “Don’t you mean, who?”

I shake my head and wince, knowing, deep down inside, that I got my question right the first time.

The stranger smiles, and it terrifies me. I can tell by the look on his face that my terror thrills him.

Then, he says one word and one word only, “Vampire.”

And it changes everything.
