My Thoughts:

Juliet has a lot on her plate for one so young.  I was going along, learning about her and then I got the “oh sh**” moment that had me sit up and take notice.  Be prepared for the adrenaline rush once we get introduced to Malice.  If you have a weak-ish stomach, don’t eat but maybe keep water at hand. 

 

I have to say, the characters that the author has created here put any of my reality crime shows to shame.  As far as some of the fictional shows, this would give them a run for their money.  I don’t watch those shows but if I knew it was based on work by this author, sign me up. 

 

This story is dark but has real problems depicted.  It shows how fragile humans can be.  Keep that in mind if you have any triggers.  Juliet is here to guide us through her new reality and how it is affecting her world.  In learning about the other characters, all impressions are told from her point of view.  In some ways that was a smart move on the author’s part but it was also frustrating.  Because we only get words to convey what she’s feeling.   

 

Malice has two brothers and it was interesting to see how they were all so different.  But they also had something that Juliet was able to connect with.  As you get to know the brothers you will see where the reverse harem tag comes in.  This story is a good example of what makes a book fictional – anything is possible and nothing is off limits. 

 

I found myself comparing this book to a puzzle.  Just like a puzzle, you start putting the pieces together and then you find it hard to stop because you start to get into the zone.  Until you get to the end do you find the last piece.  Sad thing is, I didn’t want the last piece because that would mean the puzzle is finished.  But the good news is that puzzles can be taken apart so that you can start all over again.  I look forward to reading this book again.
