The List BT Ban

Today is my stop on the blog tour for The List by Tawna Fenske! Check it out and grab your copy today! And be sure to enter Tawna’s giveaway today!

The List Synopsis:

It all starts with a list.
A sex list.
Cassie Michaels comes up with a list of naughty experiences to impress her sisters and finally convince them—and herself—she’s not just a boring soil scientist. Unfortunately, it also makes Cassie a liar if she doesn’t tick off at least some of the kinky exploits before her sister’s bachelorette party. Luckily, she’s found just the man to help her, starting with number four—sex with an anonymous stranger.
As the owner of a chain of computer shops, Simon Traxel doesn’t deal with mundane repairs, but when a brunette with killer green eyes and a list of sexploits frozen across her computer screen shows up at one of his shops, he’s ready to get a little hands on.
Simon’s more than willing to have some fun helping Cassie turn her made-up adventures into reality. Between steamy public romps that go hilariously awry, and sexy antics with kitchen utensils, getting through a to-do list has never been this much fun. But nearing the last few items means nearing the end of their time together, and Simon isn’t ready to let her go…

Excerpt:

I’ve just gotten my belt buckled when a mint-green truck pulls up behind Cassie’s. The US Forest Service logo is emblazoned on a door that swings wide open to reveal a middle-aged guy in a khaki uniform and a green parka.

“Afternoon.” He tips his hat to both of us, but his eyes are on Cassie. “Everything okay, here, ma’am?”

Cassie nods, looking dazed and flushed. It dawns on me the guy is trying to determine if he’s stumbled upon a sexual assault in progress. I feel a wave of gratitude, even as I hope like hell the guy gets back in his truck and takes off.

No such luck.

He takes a step closer, studying us both a little too intently for my comfort. “We’ve had a rash of poaching in this area recently,” he said. “Deer hunters. I don’t suppose either of you has a gun?”

Is it my imagination, or did his eyes just drop to the front of my jeans? I’m pretty sure I got my pants zipped, but my hard-on hasn’t fully subsided. I shift a little so Cassie is in front of me and clear my throat. “No, sir,” I tell him. “No firearms of any kind.”

“Good. That’s good.” He looks around like he’s trying to figure out why two people would be up here in the middle of nowhere in February with their hair disheveled and the scent of sex in the air. I have no idea if what we’ve just done is illegal, but I’d rather not find out.

“We have a permit,” Cassie says.

My brain is still filled with sex, and I turn to look at Cassie with surprise. There’s a permit for outdoor sex?

“For native plant collection,” Cassie continues. “The permit’s in the truck.”

“You’re collecting plants in the middle of winter?” The ranger gives her a skeptical look. “In the snow?”

“It’s the perfect time.” Her voice is surprisingly breezy, or maybe it’s just a contrast to my own racing pulse. “Everything’s gone dormant this time of year, so it’s much
easier to transplant.”

The Forest Service guy frowns, probably wondering whywe don’t have any tools, but Cassie continues with her story. “We’re scouting for a few good specimens before we start digging,” she says. “Ceanothus velutinus, Arctostaphylos patula—that’s snowbrush and greenleaf manzanita.”
“Uh-huh.” The guy nods slowly, and I can’t tell if he’s buying it.

I pat the tree trunk next to us and try to look casual. “We were just admiring the Pinus—uh—”
“Pinus contorta,” Cassie supplies, shooting me a look that suggests I should probably shut up. “Obviously, this one’s a little big.”

“Quite large,” says the Forest Service guy, folding his arms over his chest.

“Right,” Cassie says. “We’re not digging it up or anything. Just admiring the specimen.”

“Admiring the specimen.” He looks at us for a few more beats, and I could swear he’s smiling a little under that moustache. “So, that’s what the kids call it these days?”

Synopsis:
It’s been thirteen years since Hope Moore left Devil’s Falls, land of sexy cowboys and bad memories. Back for the weekend, she has no intention of seeing the man she never got over…or the two of them getting down and dirty. It’s just a belated goodbye, right? No harm, no foul.
Until six weeks later, when her pregnancy test comes back positive…
Daniel Rodriguez hasn’t forgiven himself for how things went down with Hope all those years ago. He knows she’s better off without him, but when she shows up on his doorstep, panicking because she’s pregnant with his baby, he can’t help seeing it as a chance to make up for the past.
Too bad Hope has no intention of going along with his plans.

My Thoughts:

Hope Moore has come home after a long absence.  It’s something she feels she must do.  Daniel “Danny” Rodriguez is a man acting like has a stick up his a**.  Then in walks a blast from the past.  Hope isn’t afraid to speak her mind and give a dressing down when needed.

Our author shows what can happen when two high school sweethearts reconnect.  Can they get beyond the past in order to make a future?  She also shows that when you reconnect you need to go in with no preconceived notions – people change, circumstances change.  Hope just may be what Daniel needs to live again.  But he may have a thing or two up his sleeve.

For me, this is when the story hooked me in because I had to know what he had planned.  This is what shows you just how creative this author is.  Women you expect to be sneaky but Danny has so many tricks and he knows just the right buttons to push to get under Hope's skin.  But just like any man, he will make mistakes but unlike some he knows when to admit he's wrong - although he needs a little help in that department.  Even though it's a story you can get read in just a couple of hours, you still want to sit back and relax.  You'll have no trouble visualizing everything that Ms. Robert has created.  The only disappointment I had was that when I got to the end there was no hint of a next book.  And no hint on her website either so will just have to be patient.  But it will give you a chance to read some of her other work in the meantime.

Excerpt:

Hope shook her head. “You’re as much an idiot now as you were then.”
And then she kissed him.
It caught him a little off guard—he hadn’t expected her to be the one to make the first move, especially after the way the scene in the bathroom had gone down—but Daniel wasted no time taking control. He kissed down her neck, sliding his hands beneath her shirt and skating them up to her body to cup her breasts. They filled his palms, familiar and yet not, all at the same time. He cursed. “Gorgeous Darling, the things you do to me.” He nipped her collarbone. “I’m going to taste you, so if you’re going to change your mind, now’s the time to do it.”
Her only response was to shove her yoga pants down to her knees.
He lifted her onto the counter and disentangled her right leg from the pants so he could spread her fully. He stroked her thighs, pausing when his fingers met the scar. It brought up so many conflicting feelings in him. It was his fault that she had the damn thing, but that didn’t mean he thought of her as less, the way she seemed to think. She was as beautiful now as she’d been at eighteen, and more confident despite her injury. Or maybe because of it. He had no idea.
All he knew was that at some point he was going to have to get up close and personal with her healed injury, and he was going to have to tread very, very carefully to avoid burning what was left of the bridge between him and Hope.
“If you apologize, I might actually kick you.”
That snapped him out of it. As much as he wanted Hope, he had an ulterior motive for pushing her now. All getting distracted by her leg was going to do was fuck up his chance of convincing her to stay, in his house and in his bed. He jerked her to the edge of the counter, spreading her thighs wider. “Don’t scream. You’ll upset Ollie.”
And then he did what he’d been fantasizing about ever since he walked out of her life. Daniel dipped his head and gave her center one long lick. She tasted better than he remembered, her body already shaking for him, so he used his thumbs to part her folds and licked her again, reacquainting himself with every inch of her.
“Oh.”
He looked up her body to find her head thrown back and her chest rising and falling with each harsh breath. “Take off your shirt.”
Hope wasted no time obeying, dragging the material over her head and tossing it away. And then there was nothing hiding her body from his gaze. He licked her again, savoring the way she shook. A tattoo curling around the bottom of her ribs caught his eye, but he was too distracted to read it.
He was tired of teasing her. He wanted to feel her orgasm again, to know she was coming apart at the seams because of him. Daniel sucked her clit into his mouth, stroking the sensitive little nub with the flat of his tongue the way she’d always loved. Sure enough, before he had a chance to truly savor her, Hope cried out his name and shuddered, her thighs squeezing his head as she came. He gentled his touches, licks turning to kisses, turning to the slightest brushing of his lips against her. Only when she stopped shaking did he raise his head. “Stay, at least until we figure out what we’re doing.”

EXCERPT:
The entirety of his body was on full display except for the patch of soap and dark water pooling below his waist. Where his hand was. Wrapped around his cock. Moving up and down in slow, deliberate movements.
Abby’s breath caught in her throat as she regarded him. His strong hand, the one that wasn’t servicing himself, gripped the side of the white porcelain tub, and his teeth grazed his bottom lip. He looked lost in the moment, his eyes squeezed shut. A stuttered breath flew from his mouth as he uttered, “Fuck.”
She cleared her throat, and Gage opened his eyes, a smile playing at his lips. “I was wondering when you were coming to join me. Ready to help me out?” He didn’t bother to stop rubbing himself, his hands making a slick wet sound as it slid through the water. Something about the lewd gesture sent a crack of heat splintering straight through her bones.

Find out in Fool Me Once by Katee Robert!

They say opposites attract, but this is just ridiculous.

fool me once.jpg
Blurb:

Aubry Kaiser doesn’t like people—actually, that’s not right. She loathes people. With her crippling anxiety, there’s no way she can demo her favorite video game at a convention with five thousand other people. Maybe if she brings someone to act as a shield…
But the only person available is the sexy cowboy she can’t stand.
Quinn Baldwyn is in a mess of his own. He’s been dodging his wealthy family’s matchmaking attempts—and life advice—for years, but with his sister’s wedding on the horizon, he needs of a shield of his own.
He and Aubry can barely hold down a civil conversation, but in bed…fireworks. And the closer they get to Quinn’s sister’s wedding, the more he realizes that he might actually like Aubry.
Now it’s up to him to convince her she might actually like him, too.

Excerpt:
She pinched the bridge of her nose. “If I say you’re right, am I ever going to live it down?”
He didn’t answer, and she opened her eyes. Their reflection was slightly distorted in the passenger window, but even she could see he had a seriously tense look on his face. She belatedly realized that they were pressed together, her back to his front, and that he was…
Oh my God. She couldn’t resist leaning back into him, just a little. Yep, that’s not a micro penis. A shiver worked its way through her, leaving goose bumps in its wake, and her nipples perked right up, showing through the thin fabric of her T-shirt. There was no way he didn’t feel her reaction, not with his arm creating a band across her ribs, his forearm against the underside of her breasts.
Even as she noticed, he started to release her, his hand sliding over her stomach, but he stopped when he hit her hip, his pinkie finger dipping below the waistband of her shorts, just a little. It wasn’t anywhere near anything vital, but that little intrusion made her moan all the same.
Fuck.” The word was barely audible, but she felt it in the way his body tensed behind her.
She shivered again, torn between telling him to back off and getting the top button of her jeans all undone for him. If she didn’t make a decision—and fast—he was going to back off again. It was written all over the tension she could feel emanating from his body.
Aubry started to reach for his hand, still undecided on whether she wanted to encourage or threaten him, but he moved, bending down to brace one hand on the truck in front of them, the other still on her hip. The move brought his mouth against her ear, and his harsh exhale made her shake.
She arched against him. She couldn’t help it. Her body took over, a primal part of her knowing he could give her all the pleasure she could handle, and was only too happy to extend an invitation by rubbing her ass against his hard length.
His grip on her hip tightened, but he didn’t try to stop her. “You’re playing a dangerous game.”
She knew. They had to stop for so many reasons, the least of which was that they were on the side of a freaking highway and it was only a matter of time before a car drove past.
But she didn’t want to stop.
FOOLL ME ONCE NOW AVAILABLE.jpg
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

katee robert bio.jpgNew York Times & USA TODAY Bestselling Author Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.

Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?

She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
