Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received this book for review from Lady Reader's Bookstuff Blog Tours and the author.  I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.  The opinions I have expressed are my own.  I am posting this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising".
About the Book:
Agent Rory Dennison is every woman’s dream. Tall, dark and Hollywood handsome, the ex-Marine scout sniper maintains a private life none of his teammates suspect. The TEAM is just a job. He intends to keep it that way—until assassins murder the father of the tiny Tibetan girl in his charge.

Rory finds himself pulled into a world of mystery and intrigue when he and his companion agent, Ember Davis, are forced to flee with Nima Dawa. Too late he discovers Nima is not only destined to become the next Dalai Lama, but she has an unearthly gift of sight.

She can see right through him. And she does.

His carefully guarded private life is suddenly at risk. He doesn't know what to trust or who to believe. The world is too full of shadows.

He isn't the only one with secrets....

My Thoughts:

Rory Dennison is at the gym working out when he sees Ember Davis and she learns his secret.  If you want to know what that secret is you’ll just have to read this book in order to get that question answered.  This is a suspenseful adventure that may have you holding your breath at times and one that starts almost from the beginning.

This is a story where you can picture each scene as it unfolds.  And that is just one reason why it is a book that is so hard to put down.  Our author has created characters that even though they have a military background; they still have human emotions just like the rest of us.  The difference between us is that sometimes those emotions must be pushed to the background in order for them to do their jobs.

There was a scene that did disturb me a little but that just goes to show how creative this author is.  It shows that she’s doing her job.  Her words are creating a reaction and isn’t that one thing we love about those that we follow – why would you want to follow someone where you didn’t feel something.  She also made me envious of the special gift she created for one of her characters.

If you love an alpha male you’ll get your fix with Rory and if you love a woman who can kick some serious ass then you’ll love Ember.  And if you love a book where there’s some heat between the main characters then that’s another reason to read this book.  If you love a female character that’s comfortable in her own skin then you’ve got to get to know Ember.  Maybe you love a male character that’s all about giving orders then you will need to get to know Rory.  One thing I was happy to find out was that there are plenty more books coming in this series – which is great news for this author’s readers.
Meet the Author:
Irish Winters is an award-winning author who dabbles in poetry, grandchildren, and rarely (as in extremely rarely) the kitchen. More prone to be outdoors than in, she grew up the quintessential tomboy on a farm in rural Wisconsin, spent her teenage years in the Pacific Northwest, but calls the Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah home. For now.

The wife of one handsome husband and the mother of three perfect sons, Irish divides her time between writing at home and travelling the country with her man while - writing. (Seriously, what else?)

She believes in making every day count for something and follows the wise admonition of her mother to, "Look out the window and see something!"

IN THE COMPANY OF SNIPERS
This multi-book series revolves around ex-Marine scout sniper, Alex Stewart, and his covert surveillance company, The TEAM, home-based out of Alexandria, Virginia. An obsessive patriot and workaholic, he draws his strength from the purest heart in his universe, Kelsey, his wife.

In the Company of Snipers is a collection of love stories. Book 1, ALEX, reveals how The TEAM came to be as well as how Alex and Kelsey met, fell in love, and fought against all odds to stay together. Each of the following stories in the series is a complete romance in itself where, in the course of an active TEAM operation, one agent will come face to face with his or her demons. They’re all patriots and warriors, dealing with what they’ve lived through or the mistakes they’ve made.
By the end of the telling, it is my hope that you, my reader, will come to realize along with my heroes that—
Love changes everything.
