My Thoughts:
Serena Mallery has come to the decision that a
change is just what she needs. But will
said change make her happy? Was it the
right decision? Drake Savage isn’t
pleased about something. But is he smart
enough to make a change? The choices that
we make can sometimes be hard but those around us can make it easier.
Our author has no trouble in getting me to
laugh – she’s very good at her job when it comes to making her readers feel
good. One of the secondary characters,
Violet is the perfect foil for some comedic relief. It’s interesting to watch her create a
romance that revolves around two friends.
Friends are an integral part to our author’s story, just as they are an
important part in our own lives. She’s
also good at not letting those friends take over what’s going on in a
scene. They have their moment but their
time to shine has either come or will be around the next bend. We get to know the friends a little better
without sacrificing the main story.
What’s great about this version of the Bayside Summers series is we still see
the heat and frustration between friends but there’s plenty left for your
imagination. One thing to note about this author is that she will never
disappoint, you’ll always get a happy ending.
I was made even happier when I found that my patience paid off – I’ve
been wiggling in my seat waiting for one of the friends to have her own
story. I also got a pleasant surprise and
can’t wait to see what it’s all about.
As I read her Acknowledgements, I’m slightly disappointed – or so I
thought. There’s an establishment
mentioned which gets my sweet tooth aching.
Having a gluten allergy I don’t think that I’ll be able to visit but
then I search their site and find they do have gf options. So maybe I’ll have to take this book and then
go feed my sweet tooth.
