A place without you, Lady, ain’t anywhere I want to be.
I love you, Rainn.

MANNIX

Mannix Steel lives by one rule—loyalty always.
It helped him through one hellish deployment where he lost an eye, friends died, and his twin lost his leg. Worst of all, he lost his family. The Wounded Souls’ enforcer decided life was easier without letting his heart make the decisions. That’s why the club’s sexy dancer is perfect for him, no strings, no promises, and no heartache. At least, that’s what he thought, but when Rainn goes missing, Mannix realises she means much more to him.

RAINN

As the spotlight dancer for the Wounded Souls’ strip club, Body and Souls, Rainn Storm knows how to use her body. She is a woman who is strong, independent—and deeply in love with the club’s rough-around-the-edges enforcer, Mannix. They have been in an open relationship for years, but that’s not enough for her now—especially since she has a secret that could destroy everything she has with her lover.

Will Mannix and Rainn ever see eye to eye on their relationship? Or will the dangerous Rogue destroy it for them?

Mannix Steel’s story starts off really sad.  But his story is one that could happen to any man who is a Vet or is currently serving.  Rainn Marcus misses her friends but she feels what she’s doing is the right thing for everyone.

This is a couple that was interesting to watch.  Mannix has a past that clouds his future.  That past is what makes a relationship with Rainn difficult.  We get to catch up on what’s been happening to the Wounded Souls too.  I haven’t read book two or three of the series but I didn’t feel like I was cheating by skipping ahead.  But at some point I do want to go back and catch up.

I’ve come to enjoy this writer’s style.  She knows just the right place to get me to laugh.  She knows just the right place to tug at my heart.  And she knows just the right moment to create some heat between the main characters.  As we get to the end Rainn drops a bomb that has me anxious to get to the next book.  And if that didn’t do it, it was most evident by the time I finished the Epilogue.

Deck Johnston takes care of his daughter and she’s someone that will steal your heart.  He’s a man that when he cares about someone he cares with his whole heart.  Charlotte Jackson has her own share of troubles.  But there are a couple of people that help her forget – even if it’s only for a little while.

This is a story where I came to look forward to any scene where Shiloh makes an appearance.  She may be tiny but she commands attention and she certainly had mine.  At times Charlotte seems a little naïve but there are circumstances that will have you feeling sorry for her.  It was interesting to see that Deck seems to come into her life at just the right moment.

The author makes this story very easy to follow especially when we have a little girl who sets about stealing hearts and a man setting out to steal a woman’s heart.  All men in this MC have redeeming qualities but there’s just something about a bad boy.  For me, it got hard to put down because there was never the perfect spot but sleep and work are part of my life.  The first chance I got though that book would be the first thing I grabbed.  The scenes moved seamlessly from one to the next.  I didn’t feel like I wanted to skip over anything because I didn’t want to miss a thing.  Well that’s not exactly true because Charlotte has a family that I came to hate.

I look forward to getting to know this group of men and whether Shiloh will make any more appearances.  After all, she’s wormed her way into their hearts and maybe mine as well.  Sometimes that will happen – you fall in love with a secondary character.  But the main characters are needed to move the story along until you see that character make her next appearance.  Plus by sticking in a bad guy that puts you on the edge of your seat also helps to move things along and has me wondering if he will continue to make appearances in the rest of the books.

I love the idea of being in love. Since my early teens when I first discovered Silhouette Desire novels my life has been all about reading. I would find myself re-writing scenes if I wasn't happy with them and hiding them under my bed. That led me to writing love stories of my own. They all ended up under the bed and are still there, and there they will stay. I don't do angst, in fact it drives me crazy.

I am a mum of three beautiful girls, Australian, and have what most say is a weird sense of humor.

I spend my free time doing movie, Sons of Anarchy, and Friends marathons. And reading.

I love Pina Colada's and getting caught in the rain..... there's that weird humor.
