Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, something extraordinary comes along that knocks you on your ass…

I’m a simple man with simple values. You either love me or you hate me, but the ones who need me, always got me. However, secrets and lies are the cancer of a man’s soul. Exposed, they will eat away all that is good and leave nothing but destruction in their wake. They’ll prove the best intentions sometimes fail and leave you questioning your life’s choices.
Now, searching for a purpose, I find myself facing the ride of my existence with a woman just as jaded as me. As she fights the biggest battle of her life, I want to be the man who stands by her side. The man who ain’t afraid to ride the edge of misery because he knows there is something beautiful on the other side…

I’ve prevailed against the mob, a deadbeat ex-husband and the woes of being a single mother. While someone else may have wished for a different life, I believe I’m stronger for everything I’ve endured. I’m someone who speaks her mind and fights for what is right. A woman who will smack you upside the head with a frying pan and ask questions later.

My Thoughts:
Alfonse “Wolf” Scotto shows us the more violent side of an MC as
well as what it does to a family. You
would expect him to have a hardened heart but he does show a softer side. This was most evident when he gives the reader
some sound advice. Maria Bianci is in
the right place at the right time when Wolf was in need of a shoulder.
The story goes along smoothly, or as smoothly as an MC read can,
when the author puts in a curveball that may have you sit up and take notice. Something else that got my attention was we
have this big strong man who won’t take sh*t from no one but put a woman, and
it has to be the right one, in front of him and you get to see a change come
over him. Maria is a woman who has been
through a lot but our author seems to think that she can handle more – makes me
think of a Helen Reddy song I Am Woman.
It’s a story with lots of pain.
It’s a story where you may cringe once or twice. It’s also a story where you may even chuckle a
time or two. And it’s also a story where
you may get a tear or two. On top of all
that we have two main characters that create quite a bit of heat. And yet with all the ups and downs I still
have the time to crack a smile. This has
to be my most favorite of this series to date.
That includes a surprise that I didn’t see coming as I get toward an ending
that was both sad and happy at the same time.
