Harlequin Imprint: Desire

Until now, Crissanne Moss has been off-limits. As his best friend’s significant other, she is Ethan Caruthers’s friend, too. So he’s always snuffed out any spark between them. Katherine Garbera is the USA Today best-selling author of more than 90 books. Writing is the chief focus of her time after her family and the only thing she likes more than working on her own books is reading other authors. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and loves the opportunity to talk about writing with anyone who'll listen.

Garbera started making up stories for her own benefit when she was on a competitive swim team in high school. Though she went to State and usually medaled at swim meets, Katherine says her heart wasn't in swimming but rather in the stories she created as she swam laps at practice.

She worked for The Walt Disney World Company for 15 years and did everything from being a hostess on It's a Small World, to saving swimmers at the Grand Floridian Resort, to touring around VIPs such as Jack Valenti at the Disney-MGM Studios and being a production page on the New Mickey Mouse Club--yes, it might be possible that Britney, Justine and Christina owe her a nod of thanks for keeping all those kids who had to go to the bathroom from interrupting their performances.

Title: The Greek’s Bought Bride
Series:  Conveniently Wed!
Author: Sharon Kendrick
Genre: Romance
Harlequin Imprint: Presents
Rating:  4.5 Stars

Blurb:

Tamsyn lost her innocence in a spectacularly sensual night with a Greek billionaire. She didn’t expect to see notorious playboy Xan again, until he proposes a marriage of convenience! It’s hard to refuse when he’s promising incredible wealth, and her pregnant sister desperately needs support, but Xan is dangerously addictive… If Tamsyn isn’t careful, she could lose herself to the Greek—for good!

My Thoughts:

Alexandros “Xan” Constantinides is a man who’s very observant.  He seems to have an attitude about people that are socially below him.  He’s one arrogant S.O.B.  Tamsyn Wilson is on her way to a celebration.  Something I loved about Tamsyn was how she turned Xan’s attitude around onto him.  The author did such a great job with that scene that I could almost here her talking in my head.  One thing she didn’t seem to have was luck.

Xan’s attitude just had a habit of rubbing me the wrong way.  He seems so cynical especially when it comes to women.  And that couldn’t have been more evident that after one of their conversations.  Do you like stories where the main characters appear to hate/not like each other?  Do you like stories where marriage becomes a necessity?  Maybe you just like the Harlequin imprint.  Maybe you’re already following the Conveniently Wed! Series.

I love books where I get to be transported somewhere else.  It’s not required that I get in my car and drive somewhere.  I don’t need to take a boat or a plane and I can even wear my pajamas if I so choose.  All I really need, besides the book obviously, is a comfortable seat.  One disappointment I did have here was in not having read Tamsyn’s sister’s story first.  You don’t need to have read it first but I feel it will give you some idea as to how the beginning of this story comes to be.  And to let you know, it’s not part of this series but the One Night With Consequences.  I’ll let you figure out how much I liked this story with the fact that it took me a few hours to figure out what book belonged to Hannah Wilson.

Summer is coming to an end so you may find yourself getting busy or getting ready to go on vacation.  You may be a bookaholic like me and look forward to your next read.  But you need something that’s either not too long or isn’t going to take you all day to read.  Once I got into this story, it only took me a couple of hours to get from beginning to end.  The only issue I had is I started it on one day but stupid me started it more toward the end of the day.  So I had to put it down and then pick it back up the next day.  Once I got back into what was going on between our main characters I couldn’t put it down or bother with whatever program was on TV – and thank goodness my phone didn’t ring.

To the horror of my parents, I left school at sixteen and held a bewildering variety of jobs: I was a London DJ (in the now-trendy Primrose Hill), a decorator and a singer. After that I became a cook, a photographer and, eventually, a nurse. I waitressed in the south of France, drove an ambulance in Australia, saw lots of beautiful sights but could never settle down. Everywhere I went I felt like a square peg--until one day I started writing again and then everything just fell into place. I felt like Cinderella must have when the glass slipper fit!

Today, I have the best job in the world, writing passionate romances for Harlequin. I like writing stories which are sexy and fast-paced, yet packed full of emotion--stories that readers will identify with, laugh and cry along with.

My interests are many and varied--chocolate and music, fresh flowers and bubble baths, films, cooking and trying to keep my home from looking burglarized! Simple pleasures--you can't beat them!

I live in Winchester, one of the most stunning cities in the world, but don't take my word for it--come see for yourself! I regularly visit London and Paris. Oh, and I love hearing from my readers all over the world...so I think it's over to you!
