My Thoughts:
Katrina Vega is trying to juggle a lot of things. Betsey is a character that piqued my interest
in what this MC is all about. I think I
just found a new one to follow. Someone
else that intrigued me was Stud. I can’t
say that he or Betsey could be considered secondary characters because they
seemed so much a part of what was going on.
One thing I liked about this story was that the author chose to
write this story in the first person. We
get more of a personal perspective about the other characters. I was intrigued with how the author portrayed
Mute. Certainly not what I expected but
it became a very pleasant surprise. It
was a great way to get me hooked. Once I
started, it was very difficult to walk away.
This may seem a bit one sided since Katrina seems to be doing all
the talking. But Mute has a way of
making himself heard. Another thing that
I liked was that we don’t have a hookup right away. This author knows how to build her story
first and then everything that comes later is just a yummy topping on a really
good cake – or a pint of your favorite ice cream.
There is an ending to this story but I didn’t get the impression
that it was one that said “The End”. And
that made me happy since I’m not done with this series yet. In the Acknowledgements the author thanks
some people. And if you enjoyed this
book as much as I did then you might want to send up thanks as well.
