Blurb:
Greyson Ratcliffe. I met him at sixteen, the hot new guy sitting on my jetty, an aspiring artist just passing through. He was my first kiss and my first love. I wanted forever with him. I didn’t even get a year.
Five years later, I’m a budding writer who scripts stories of love and struggle, the good and the bad and the ups and the downs. He’s a star on the rise; his wicked talent and crazy good looks have his face plastered on countless magazines. We move in two different worlds and still our paths cross again. We’re older and wiser and as crazy about each other as we had been as teenagers.
My medium is words and my imagination is limitless, but not even I could have written the incredible journey we traveled to reach our happily-ever-after. Life isn’t like fiction, and the greatest love stories don’t follow a script.
Loved that the author has a Playlist at the beginning of the
book. This gives you the chance to get
your music ready before you start reading.
What’s also nice is that this story is told in parts, which helps when
you need to find the perfect spot to stop.
It’s also like reading a miniseries because of the way the story is
divided.
Alexis Owens hasn’t had a happy childhood. She reminds us how uncomfortable high school
can be – especially for those who don’t seem to fit in. Having never been in the foster system, I
can’t say that I understand how she feels but that doesn’t mean that my heart
won’t hurt for her. I’m sure that there
are a lot of children that actually do understand though. And we can see how awkward high school
crushes can be.
Greyson Ratcliff might have met someone he wants to take a chance
on. He’s the good-looking new guy that
all the girls want to get to know. If
you think of how it was when you were in school, all the guys probably want to
hate him. But he’s a surprising
character because he doesn’t do what’s expected.
As a reader you almost get a sense of being on the outside looking
in. Like we’re watching something that’s
very private. But if we don’t keep
reading than how will we ever know. It’s
a very personal story that we’re invited to watch as it unfolds. If you ever had a high school sweetheart than
you may understand a lot of what the main characters are feeling. There’s a lot to this story so don’t go in
expecting that it will only take a couple of hours. The author keeps things interesting so you
won’t mind the length. Everything moves
smoothly so time will just seem to disappear.
It was nice to see a story that came full circle so you get that sense
of a happy ending – you couldn’t ask for a better Epilogue.

LA Fiore loves losing herself in the worlds she creates. She also loves a good movie; her favorite is Star Wars, a love her son shares. They hope to build their own Millennium Falcon one day. She would like to meet the Winchester Boys to thank them for enlightening her on the versatility of salt as not just a food enhancer, but also a form of protection against supernatural threats. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and kids, their two spoiled cats, their awesome dog and their new puppy.
