Kane Kaino is a man that garners attention from those around
him. Kathryn “Kit” Carlyle has to honor
a request. Kit’s cousin was the catalyst
that brought these two characters together.
My disappointment was that she has a story that I found wanting to
know. But on the bright side if it
weren’t for her I wouldn’t have gotten to know Kane and Kit.
This is a story that even though it’s written by two authors you
won’t be able to tell which author wrote what.
The chapters move seamlessly from one to the next. I used to hate reading books that were told
in the first person. This book is one of
the reasons that I changed my mind – and am I glad that I did. With this type of book I think that you get a
better perspective of the characters themselves. Instead of assuming what they’re thinking the
authors help me to understand them better.
I would also think that it makes the job of the author harder – must have
to get into the mind of a character that they are trying to develop.
We have two people that if I saw them I probably wouldn’t put
money on them ever having a relationship.
But then we have two creative people that showed me that anything is
possible. Especially when there’s a list
that one of them needs help getting through.
One good thing about reading a book is that if you want to dream about
trading places with any character in the book anything is possible– sigh! Being a series it will be interesting to see
how our team tries to top this one.
Especially after the tease they leave us with.

Eden Butler is an editor and writer of Fantasy, Mystery and Contemporary Romance novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum.
When she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden patiently waits for her Hogwarts letter, edits, reads and spends way too much time watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans Saints football.
She is currently living under teenage rule alongside her husband in southeast Louisiana. Please send help.
