Synopsis

Growing up, Ainsley Carter always felt different from her parents. While they embraced their financial status, she never liked how it set her apart from others in their small town. It was always obvious to her what money did to people, how it had the power to change things. Most of all, she hated what it took from her.

Back in Kittery, Maine, for the first time in over four years, she is instantly bombarded with plans that her parents have made for her life. Expensive clothes, the perfect man ready to marry her, the life of privilege.

Adam is the complete opposite of everything Ainsley is told she should want. After breaking it off with Ainsley, he’s bitter. He despises everything about the way Ainsley and her family use money to make problems go away.

My Thoughts:

Ainsley Carter feels she has to become the perfect daughter.  She shows that even though you can have lots of money, you can be unhappy about your situation.  Then she comes into contact with the forbidden – Adam James.

I loved that the author gives the reader a taste of Adam’s point of view.  The way the author created her scenes, I’ve found a craving to see what he’s thinking.  One scene I loved was where Ainsley finally puts her big girl pants on – about time!  Funniest moment?  A scene on a boat – you’ll know when you get there.  For me, it was that waking moment for Ainsley that set the rest of the story in motion.  And you won’t stop reading until you find out how the story ends.

This is part of a serial and it will be interesting to see where the author goes with it.  This being a short read, it will not take you long to read the story.  I tried to find out if there was any information on number two but had no luck.  Readers will just have to be patient to see when it comes out.  But she has plenty of other books that you can check out in the meantime.
